Disney has slightly shuffled its summer release schedule, moving the Nic Cage-starrer The Sorcerer’s Apprentice to Wednesday July 14. It had been set for Friday, July 16. The Jon Turteltaub-directed film also stars Jay Baruchel, Monica Bellucci and Alfred Molina. The film’s produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, whose pic The Prince of Persia: Sands of Time squares off against Sex and the City 2 this Memorial Day weekend.pro

I remember the original film, that ish freaked me out as a kid
I guess Disney knows it wont perform well cause it looks stupid. This way they include Wednesday and Thursdays numbers when calculating the weekend performance. Stupid old Disney
Urm… not sure releasing on Wednesday of the same weekend counts as “moving it up”…
I think this is a real good sign for Christopher Nolan’s Inception…which opens the same weekend. Inception could be the biggest hit of the summer, and Apprentice probably does not want to match up Friday-Sunday with it.
