It was their idea to do this as viral PR for Fox’s Day And Knight summer movie:
Editor-in-Chief Nikki Finke - tip her here.

That was awesome! Loved it!
That was kinda cute.
This looks so bad!
Would have been more convincing without the pull harness on Tom’s back…
Have you seen what Ashton Kutcher’s doing to promote KILLERS?
It’s a hell of a lot more interesting than this nonsense.
Gotta give it up to A.K., he understands the medium more than most anyone
in the entertainment business right now.
You can say what you want about his acting skills, but the guy
is making the internet translate to the real world.
He single tweetedly took a 6th grader from
YouTube obscurity to the Ellen show in three days!
fox is gonna make a mint
That’s really funny. A bit obvious that it’s staged, what with the cuts and shot/reverse shot camera angles. Would have been better to do it in one long take and no cuts so folks could debate whether it’s real or not. But whatever…it made me laugh.
Funny! I have high expectations for this movie!
Isn’t it called Knight and Day?
Wow. I haven’t seen spontaneity like that since Benny Hill. Tom Cruise is the funniest man alive.
ALL HAIL ZENU!!
If the movie’s as imaginative and well-acted as this tease, it’ll be playing on the airlines within two weeks of release.
You gotta hand it to Cruise—he knows what his public wants.
After all the couch-jumping weirdness of a few years back, what does he do? He goes away for a while, and when he re-emerges, it’s to make fun of himself.
To the jaded (and I assume everyone reading this blog is a bit jaded), it looks like a craven bid. But to the masses, it works.
Rock on Cruise—truly the hardest workin’ man in showbiz.
Right, I can see these two hashing out ideas all night over a bottle of wine and Triskets.
I’d rather see Killers than that stale, old queen (who’s obviously running this ad campaign).
this is so pathetically lame it’s funny. unfortunately i don’t think in the way they intended. two washed up stars pretending to not be acting. and they can’t even do that well. like i said, funny.
Genius. I can’t wait for this movie. These two have a fantastic chemistry.
“spontaneous” or not, it’s still hilarious
That would be good if he was crying or fainting after she left!
Never saw that coming.
Well it certainly wasn’t the idea who’s ever actually written something before.
Um, where’s the beef – I mean the viral?
