Politico has compiled a roster of tonight’s power and glitter at the White House Correspondents Dinner. So, natch, I’ve included only the celebs (below). Jay Leno will entertain at the annual media-politics-showbiz schmoozefest in Washington DC. At the prestigious gig last year, Wanda Sykes was more political than funny attacking Republicans during the dinner attended by President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama. Clearly, the group wanted a blander
and therefore safer comic emcee so C-Span won’t have to use its 7-second delay button. This is Jay’s 4th time hosting: he headlined the 2004, 2000, and 1987 dinners during the administrations of both parties. NBC is taking great pains to showcase Leno. I don’t know why because Jay doesn’t have Wanda’s balls. Still, MSNBC is covering the event live, and Sunday the “Morning Joe” hosts will review the evening. From Politico, guests include:
ABC Table: Kathryn Bigelow, Mark Boal; Modern Family‘s Julie Bowen and Ty Burrell; George Stephanopoulos and Ali Wentworth, who invited J.J. Abrams and his wife, Katie McGrath.
American Urban Radio Network Table: Wendy Williams
Bloomberg News Table: Rosario Dawson, James Brooks.
CBS Table: Julianna Margulies; Morgan Freeman; Betty White; Chelsea Handler
CNN Table: Ashley Judd; Dennis Quaid; Quinton Aaron; The Tuohy family, whose story is the basis for the film The Blind Side; James Badge Dale and Jon Seda of the HBO miniseries The Pacific; Larry King, who is bringing Seth MacFarlane and Jeff Probst; Joy Behar.
Creative Coalition Table: Jessica Alba and her husband, Cash Warren; Ashley Greene; Omar Epps; Steven Weber; Cheryl Hines; Adrian Grenier; Spike Lee; Morley Safer; Tom Fontana; and CCH Pounder.
Essence Table: Queen Latifah
Fortune Table: Michael Douglas.
Fox News Channel Table: Vanessa Williams; Chace Crawford; Matthew Morrison; Enrique Iglesias; Ali Larter; Marlon Wayans; Patricia Arquette.
Huffington Post Table: John Cusack; Scarlett Johansson; Jeremy Piven; Ari Emanuel.

Rumored others: Ryan Seacrest, Zach Galifianakis, Terrence Howard.
Editor-in-Chief Nikki Finke - tip her here.

It took “balls” for Wanda to do what she did last year? Really? Hey I thought it was very funny and I liked it but give me a break that was easy for her. She was sitting in a room filled with 90% left wing media, and celebs who all hate Republicans and made fun of those hated Republicans. Thats doesnt take balls. If it was the other way around, that would be ballsy.
Wait — does this mean that Cusack and Piven are back to being friends? When did that happen?
It seems CNN and Fox News are competing to be the celebrity tables, with Ms. Huffington trying to follow suit in spirit. Is bringing Justin Bierber the price People had to pay to feature him in their magazine?
This is just gross. What a bunch of fatuous celebrity suck-ups.
To clarify: the politicians and the press are the suck-ups. A few of the celebs are not fatuous.
This will be as bland as the chicken that they serve.
Oh joy once again all of these limousine liberals get together for a big party. They’re so full of themselves so full of crap they’re worse than the country club conservatives because the limousine liberals are the bigger hypocrites. Washington D.C. is the one of the worst inner city areas in the country, only Detroit is worse. Within two blocks of this hotel there are homeless people living on the streets. They will pass right by them in their limousines. Averting their eyes because even with Obama in the White House the problem remains. Screw all of these celebs including the news media phonies who think this is their big night their annual prom. You’re all a bunch of hypocrites.
What do you know about DC? The worst next to Detroit? Hardly. You obviously haven’t been to DC in a while. Homeless people? There are a lot. Just like in any city, including Santa Monica, Venice or Downtown L.A. How many of them do you walk past without stopping?
There are so many homeless in this country…..I’m with you on this post….the oil spill should be Americas first order of business, not where Celebs are passing the homeless in limos…..why cant we get these people off the street in and housing….why does money have to go to war……but that wont be talked about at this dinner…..it’s a press dinner right? So just why is Jessica Simpson there…..that sums up the whole evening….just her being there……non sense……
Piven and Ari at the same table
Hard to believe some douche-bag actually has the time or inclination to point that out.
Did Jay take Nikke’s lunch money nat some point? I’m just bwondering why she’s such a bitch when it comes to him. So what if he took the Tonight Show from Conan. It wasn’t like Conan didn’t pull a bitch move by saying he’d quit if he wasn’t given the show.
And of course Wanda has bigger balls than Jay, when they’re implanted they let you choose the size
Um. Politico invited the Jonas Brothers? Pathetic. This sounds like the perfect dinner for any blowhard to attend and feel “neat” about themselves. I’m just so glad that these Limo Liberals care so much about the American people.
Would be nice if most of these outlets spent as much time digging into stories as they do wrangling celebrity guests. Let’s see, how many stories have they missed….?
So correct – how many stories…..thats why I make up my own…just like the networks do….
Joy Behar should MC this she would be hysterical and smart. Jay not so smart…
They let FOX News have a table?
WTF is wrong with this country. When do they have a big dinner where regular people can schmooze with the President? Well good thing Julianna Margulies and Jeff Probst were there.
