EXCLUSIVE: Carrie Fisher just filmed a guest shot for HBO’s Hollywood-centric comedy Entourage. In a role, which may recur, she plays Anna Fowler, a reporter working for Nikki Finke’s Deadline Hollywood. The breakdown for the Anna Fowler character created a stir in some gossip-obsessed Hollywood circles, especially since HBO is prepping another comedy project, Tilda, whose title character played by Diane Keaton has drawn comparisons to Nikki. This will not be the first mention of Nikki on Entourage. “I’ll fuck Nikki Finke before I let her affect my business decisions,” was a line from last season. Entourage returns for Season 7 on June 27.
Earlier today, HBO announced Fisher’s hit stage production Wishful Drinking, based on her autobiographical book, is being produced for TV as a feature-length documentary by HBO and World of Wonder Prods. The special will combine elements of her one-woman stage performance, to be taped June 25 before a live audience at the South Orange Performing Arts Center in South Orange, NJ, with archival footage and interviews with friends and family, the network said.

That is so cool! congratulations nikki! you must be so proud of yourself and the business you have built. don’t listen to the haters, they are just jealous they aren’t mentioned on a such a super cool show as entourage. It’s good to see that someone who’s been around the business for so long still gets excited when they are recognized by tremendous talents like Doug Elin.

If you’re calling the guy who has pretty much NO CREDITS aside from helping create “ENTOURAGE” a “tremendous talent” then I wonder what you call someone who actually has helped create something worthwhile like “MODERN FAMILY,” “HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER,” “THE WIRE,” “THE SOPRANOS;” fuck,anything that isn’t as ridiculously vapid as “ENTOURAGE.”

instead of discussing this, how about we discuss how irrelevant “ENTOURAGE” is now, and how it showcases nothing genuine about the Hollywood process, but rather is nothing but an idealized puff-piece of the system.
personally, i think there’s a one-hour that truly underscores what it is to work in hollywood. still waiting for that one. Maybe they’ll do it on Showtime. Funnily enough, Starz’s genius show, “PARTY DOWN” highlights more of the Hollywood acting realities than “ENTOURAGE” does.

I’ll go one further and suggest that Diane Keaton is the wrong choice for Tilda, and that it should be Carrie Fisher!
Fisher wields the snark and heart that will not only truly invoke what Ms. Finke has worked hard to create (if that is indeed HBO’s intention), but will also result in a more endearing & sustainable character.
Imagine that booming voice, addled by years of nicotine, booze, pills and stage training, thundering down the hall of the ostensibly Deadline office suite. Would make Ari Gold’s “LLOYD!”‘s seem like a kitten’s purr.
But Fisher’s humility and warmth shine through her eyes and her smile in ways that works so nicely for Carmella Soprano/Nurse Jackie.

Hi Brett here again. I guess nobody, especially you dvelopment guy, picked up on the sarcasm i was going for. Entourage should have stopped after season 3. I was making fun of shameless self promotion. I recall a time when Nikki was saying the show was past its prime, but then they mentioned her and now its gold? As for Doug Ellin, I was joking about him being talented, guy’s a tool.
