CAA has lost Mark Ruffalo after he only arrived there in March. I hear he’s parking himself at management company Brillstein Entertainment Partners.
John Cusack has left WME to go to CAA. (UPDATE: A website no one in Hollywood reads reported this already. Not even the agencies saw it.)
ICM has lost Paul Giamatti. No word on where he’s heading.
Alex O’Loughlin left ICM for UTA. (Chris Hart was on his team, and the agent just jumped from ICM to UTA.)
And, while I’m at it, I hear Thruline Entertainment has lost Jessica Alba and Eva Longoria as management clients. This follows April’s news that Bradley Cooper departed.
Editor-in-Chief Nikki Finke - tip her here.

Glad to hear it! These are accomplished actors and it’s about time this handful made a change. I’m curious what’s going to happen with Cusack and Giamatti now that they’ve made these changes.
Is Thruline thru now? seems like they just lost most of their business
In the words of Heraclitus, “The only constant [in Hollywood] is change.”
Mark Ruffalo is probably the most talented of all the actors named…
I love me some Mark Ruffalo, but with Paul Giamatti on the list yours seems an insane statement. The most marketable, maybe. But Giamatti’s body of performances is hugely impressive.
Alex O’Laughlin would do better to invest in some acting classes rather than worry about representation. He’s scuppered three CBS vehicles so far, it seems he can’t rise above the level of soaps. Maybe ‘The Young and the Restless’ could find a place for him before he has to go home.
Hey Shelia, You must not be normal if you don’t like Alex O’loughlin, maybe Ellan DeGeneris is more your type.
I can’t believe also that a normal female would not love Alex , He can act just fine.
Hey Sheila – if you’re going to diss an actor, at least get the name right … it’s O’LOUGHLIN not O’Laughlin. And, Alex doesn’t need acting lessons – he’s already a graduate of NIDA in Australia so look up your facts before you post. Alex’s talent will shine through on Hawaii-Five-0 … CBS just has to provide quality writers, directors, showrunners, etc. if they truly want the series to be a hit. Ball’s in their court.
Perhaps if you delve deeper you’ll find the back ground stories to each of those shows you’ll find the common bond was that Alex was in those shows…..the show runners or the producers or some other situation held the cards and he was not in the driver’s seat.
Paul Giamatti was brilliant in John Adams…..and has a catalog of other respected works.
Mr O’Loughlin did hace acting classes for you8r information! In Australia/ Sydney. Also Mel Gibson attened this school! Alex Graduated in the highest of the class and has a actors like bachlars degree for his accomplishments! So be sure you know what your talking about before engaging mouth. Oh Foot maybe inserted.
What planet are you from? That was a crappy thing to say. He has talent and you are a idiot if you don’t see that.
Your way off base Sheila, if you think Alex O’Loughlin can not act. The Moonlight series was lost due to writing issues during the writers strike and Three Rivers changed writers mid stream and lost what should have been a great series for a super great cause! That is only two, Hawaii Five-O is set for a third season… Alex O’Loughlin is truly a fabulous young actor with a great future ahead.
What Alex O’Loughlin needs to do is get away from cBS. There is nothing wrong with his acting, it’s the network that keeps giving him crappy TV shows (like Three Rivers and now Hawaii 5 O )and movies like The Back-Up Plan.Somehow cBS has a hold over him.
I’m hoping Hawaii 5-0 will be the trick for Alex. Three Rivers wasn’t a well thought out show. I feel TR’s was thrown out there to keep Alex working and to satisfy his year contract he had with CBS until they had H5-0 ready, as they had already been in talks about H5-0 when they did TR’s. H5-0 is quickly becoming the #1 Most Anticipated New Series out there. So I praying it does him good! This is right up Alex’s alley with the action and stunts (he does most of them himself). If this doesn’t work, I sure hope he leaves CBS and moves on. Although I love CBS’s shows, and they claim to love Alex, sometimes I just feel the match up isn’t right
Alex O’Loughlin is an extremely talented actor who needs nothing except better representation. His acting abilities are exceptional. Furthermore, he was never the reason Moonlight OR Three Rivers failed. Moonlight ended due to behind the scenes problems on the production and 3R had the crappiest timeslot on TV and was never given the chance to find its feet. Good luck to Alex!
I am also curious about Thruline. EL and JA were their moneymakers so what now?
I agree. CBS is almost like a jinx to him. No matter what he does with them it fails. Moonlight should have been successful and he shined in it. Everything since has paled in comparison. That spark and charisma doesn’t seem to be transferring into the other characters…
Alex O’Loughlin has talent, and he has many fans. I have thought for some time now that what would catapult him to a place where he is a household name would be some kind of change of management.
Would love to see the new team get him booked on Letterman and Leno for example. Can’t think of any reason his people hadn’t accomplished that for him by now.
He has done well in the past, but a new team will have fresh ideas.
Can this mean that ICM is now 2nd tier?
Is Thruline a victim of the CAA/360 conspiracy?
Will ‘Hawaii 5-O’ finally show Alex M’s CBS promise?
I can’t believe the negative comments of a great actor and humanitarian Alex O’loughlin. I don’t think CBS would keep giving Alex series if they didn’t appreciate his talents. Don’t despair Alex on meaningless words. Hawaii Five O will be a hit.And perhaps this move of agencies is exactly the way to go.You’re a great guy and good and worthwhile things are worth waiting for. Stay positive!
I hope all these actors will come out on top. As for their ex-agents, what an opportunity for quiet reflection, prayer and exploration of the boundaries between personal and business, self-esteem in the face of perceived abandonment, and freed up lunch times (perhaps time to write that novel they’ve always talked about?). Blessings, Terrence
How can Thruline possibly be “done” when Henze produces PSYCH? Long live Henze and Thruline. He’s a good guy!
It is gratifying to read that after several years of moronic moves, Giamatti must have finally realized he is not the star he ought to be. Actually, he is hovering somewhere in the middle of the C list – a place where many equally brilliant British actors often end up but usually after at least a few years of wonderful roles in good movies before they decide to settle for a heftier paycheck than Giamatti has yet to even see. Awhile ago, he was on track for Phil Hoffman’s career and then just lame choice after lame choice. I mean, he hadn’t even gotten famous enough to sell out. His representation had already done that for him. Guess he finally decided to take action. Maybe there’s still time. God knows he’s gifted enough.
Can someone plese tell me how Alex O’Loughin keeps landing series leads when his shows never last past a season? I don’t get it. I mean series leads??
maybe Alex O’Loughlin could recommend an acting class to Jessica Alba?
I doubt there is any agent out there that can help John Cusack’s career. He hasn’t made a good movie in 10 years and he treats his fans like crap because that is apparent from reading his tweets.
I have been a John Cusack fan for years. Today I trashed all of his films in my collection after reading his call for a SATANIC DEATH for Fox news and many conservatives. Unbelievable. If this isn’t hate speech, what is? He use to be my favorite, now I wouldn’t watch his films if you paid me. I will be posting to my contact list that this actor has gone over the edge and has joined the ranks of writers who are also engaging in written lynchings based on intolerance for free speech. With utter distain for actors who feel their opinion is the only one and who, rather than engaging in debate on issues, attack with hate, bias, intolerance, arrogance, and death calls. I will miss his movies, but supporting such ugliness is impossible.
