From doctor to dentist – ER star John Stamos is in negotiations to join red-hot Fox musical dramedy Glee in a heavily recurring role next season. He will play a new love interest for lovable OCD guidance councelor Emma Pillsbury (Jayma Mays). In tonight’s freshman season finale of Glee, SPOILER ALERT Emma will tell on-and-off flame Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison) that she is dating a dentist. That is the character that Stamos will play next season.
UPDATE: Two Gleeks who commented on the story noted Emma Pillsbury’s Stamos quip in Episode 3: “They say it takes certainty more than talent to make a star – I mean, look at John Stamos.” I wonder if she spots the resemblance…
Stamos, repped by WME and Brillstein Entertainment, has a solid Broadway resume, which includes roles in Cabaret, Nine, How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying and, most recently, Bye Bye Birdie. In primetime, he most recently starred on NBC’s ER, on which he played paramedic-turned-intern Tony Gates.

When is Mandy Patinkin going to play Rachel’s Dad?
In the first episode of Season One, we saw the photo of Rachel’s dads in her locker. Remember? Mandy Patinkin could possibly play her grandfather or uncle, but not papa.
Mandy Patinkin would make a wonderful recurring guest. He would be on Glee just long enough for us to love and connect with his character – and then “something” would come up and he would inexplicably quit and leave us hanging.

OK, this is hilarious because Emma totally dissed John Stamos during the fall portion of season one. She said that confidence is more important than talent when it comes to being a star–”Just look at John Stamos”. While I haven’t seen Stamos on Broadway, he’s not a great actor, but hopefully he’s a great singer…or something…
Well, according to Wikipedia, Mr. Stamos does have musical experience…

Stamos was very good on ER. Definitely got his chops up for dramatic work. Glee should be right up his alley…music + comedy. Cut it out. Oh wait, that’s Joey.

What is it with Jayma Mays and dentists? I hope her next project casts her, once again, as a quirky girl named Charlie who deserts her guy for a tooth doctor.

Oh lord, YES! He definitely beats out all the other guys on Glee already. I can’t wait for next season! And it doesn’t even look like he aged at all since Full House. If he has, he looks even better now.

I love the show Glee and with John Stamos being added to the cast is absolutely genius! The viewing audience will most likely double now with John on the show. Great choice!!!
I’d rather have his character hook up with Will Schuster than loony Emma.
I don’t care what anybody says about John Stamos I love him and if he gets to be on the show, I’ll be a fan to this show. I’ve never seen it b4 but if John is in it I’ll defenitely watch!!
