It’s like the anti-Criterion Collection
Yikes. So this is what the film business looks like…
I remember when Hotel Transylvania was supposed to come out in 2008.
SALT and Hugo Cabaret are the ones Im anticipating the most.
where’s ‘Girl with a Dragon Tattoo’? isn’t it already scheduled for Xmas ’11?
notice the list is missing MONEYBALL…?
That’s hilarious that you got hold of this internal document that’s distributed, pretty much, on a biweekly basis due to the high frequency of title and release date revisions. Shifting release dates are the norm at Sony and, truth be told, expected.
Is there a release date for The Tourist yet?
Only ones on that list that I’m looking forward to are: Salt, Battle: Los Angeles, and Pirates 4. The rest…bleh.
Um, Pirates of the Caribbean is distributed by Disney. This is an animated film distributed by Sony. Not the same thing.
Wow. I don’t want to see any of these movies. Except “Social Network” but that’s only because Fincher directs and I will go to see anything he makes. As bad as this summer is, it looks like it’s gonna get worse….
Take away the Spiderman reboot and suddenly Sony’s slate looks very ordinary indeed.
I have high hopes for Battle:LA based on the director not the script. I literally couldn’t read the script for it however.
It was like a 12 year old with ADD tried to write what a video game was like as he was playing it.
Awful.
Quite surprised they have no Christmastime release this year.
Green Hornet is buried in January??
That’s an iconic title, classic characters, old TV show.
Too bad.. I am sure they had higher hopes for it.
Sony’s 2011 lineup has virtually zero tentpole movies. They have some potential 100M+ grossers throughout the year, but nothing very noteworthy, particularly in the summer.
I’m surprised to see “Skank Robbers” on there… So Jaime Foxx and Martin Lawrence are really going to go through with that?
If anything, they should have come out with it THIS year where the skit was still fresh in people’s minds. Waiting till 2011? Hmmm.
Also I have seen so much promo already for Resident Evil Afterlife 3D that I’m wondering why it’s not being pushed up to August (since there really isn’t a damn thing coming out…
Another Underworld? Geez, the last one was horrible!
“Skank Robbers”
Isn’t that one of Kubrick’s unfinished projects?
If the Film Derivatives Market actually becomes real (hope not), 22 of these titles would be on the DON’T BE STUPID or if you are that stupid DUMP NOW list.
