NCIS co-star Michael Weatherly has closed a deal to continue on the veteran CBS crime procedural. Weatherly was one of four original cast members, along with Pauley Perrette, David McCallum and Sean Murray, who didn’t have deals beyond this past seventh season and whose future on the show became uncertain in April over a salary dispute with producer CBS TV Studios. McCallum reached a deal a few days later, while Weatherly and Perrette attended the CBS upfront despite the fact that they didn’t have new contracts (Murray didn’t attend because of a scheduling issue.) Perrette recently also reached an agreement, and, with Weatherly signed too, Murray, who started off as a recurring in Season 1, is the last remaining NCIS cast member without a deal but the two sides are optimistic that he too would eventually be re-signed.

he is devine, it would have been a big loss without him. i hope he can do a few films when this is done as whatever it is, he’s got it. wait, who goes to movies anymore, he should stay right where he is, at home with us.
The original “NCIS” is far superior to the new “NCIS:L.A.” but both of these flagship CBS shows, have a really bad “digital” look.
“NCIS” looked so much better when it was shot on film. They should return to shooting “NCIS” on film. CBS, don’t skimp on the most popular show on TV.
Weatherly and Murray are two of the most talented actors working in prime time TV, and the least recognized. The NCIS ensemble is a delight to watch, and the proof is that day after day, USA runs NCIS marathons and hoards of us just keep watching.
okay, this is just shockingly good reporting.
well done.
How do I say this nicely… does Michael really look like that now/?? Bad pic!
Oh thank God! I was getting worried that they might decide to axe him. When I first heard the news, I swore to myself that if they got rid of Tony because of this, I was going to stop watching NCIS, and I love the show. But Tony’s my all time favorite character and there’s no way he could be replaced. I am so glad that I don’t have to worry about that anymore.
Yay!!! It wouldn’t be the same without DiNozzo! We want the rest of them, too!!!
Hah am I really the first reply to this great writing.
If only more than 31 people could read about this.
Really hoping that the article is right in saying the “two sides are optimistic that he too would eventually be re-signed” to secure Sean Murray’s return as McGee – it just wouldn’t be the same.
For a cast this strong, anyone with any sense at CBS should make sure they keep hold of their best asset – i.e. the cast as a whole. The dynamic the NCIS ensemble has should not be ruined by the “invisible” behind the scenes network executives.
I am a huge fan of N.C.I.S. CBS do right please and sign everyone of these great actors back. During a time when reality TV has taken over please give us this and keep this excellent show going.
