EXCLUSIVE: Here’s a movie spoof you have to watch, even though WME would prefer you didn’t. The agency often puts together presentations for its quarterly meetings. The lit department made this short film, and debuted it this morning. They hoped it would not go beyond agency headquarters, but Deadline got it and felt obliged to share. The short was directed by Dave Green, and the Ari-esque agency head is played by Miles Fisher. The WME agents who took part include Dave Wirtschafter, Rob Carlson, Kim Bilek, Simon Faber, Jason Spitz, David Karp and David Lubliner. Plus a Rob Cohen cameo.

Yeah, I’m sure they were really hoping it wouldn’t get outside the office. That’s why they had someone post it on Youtube. Lame.
finally – some fun in this town. we need more of it.
just sayen.
this is hilarious and i think the underlying (er, on the nose) theme calls out the current strategic paths that are leading to the lol stock values shown at the right of the screen…perhaps those should be positioned further, like say at the top???
anyway, well done…
I hope the presentation was to show how stupid remakes and derivatives are killing original content, original stories, and real writing. I HOPE.
@ Writer: ditto. Is ‘branded entertainment’ fatigue FINALLY setting in? Those of us who (try) and sell original lit material can only pray.
And I thought it was funny, too.To those ‘critics’ out there..did they turn down repping you?
This was better than what’s been out in theatres the last few weeks!
Very self-aware. Which frightens me.
too funny
.
Wow, you people criticizing it seem to have completely missed the point. This is not a sample reel or short film meant to go to festivals. It was a quick video that was meant to entertain staffers. Are you guys this hard on your kids’ plays?
I’m sure they didn’t pay the writers.
Ehhh, I like the self-serve yogurt places better.
Love it!! It’s hilarious…no matter what other people say
Brilliant! Still laughing after watching it.
Loved it. Yes its not original, but that doesn’t make it less entertaining.
Best line: “Do Legal know about this?”
That one really rings true.
/the ‘This Must Be The Place’ video was awesome.
Well done. Congrats to all. Although new guy, this may make you feel like part of the team now, but it won’t save your job next year.
Enough with the ties. Dave W. has it right.
Thank you.
Another insightful post about insecurity within the industry from imhonestlyanidiot.com.
Thank you.
“the movie’s already made, nothing has to be done, we just need somebody to write it”
Lol.
Way better than anything Adam Sandler makes.
Hilarious and probably pretty faithful to what it’s like working in a big agency.
karp you need a haircut.
That was a great line. Sort if the the office scene in the player! Good stuff
freakin love it. can’t wait to see miles fisher again, dude’s got skillz.
other agencies dont release videos to prove their “creativity,” and to generate buzz. typical wme trying to hog the spotlight. focus on your clients, not yourselves.
Steve:
You hit the nail on the head. The SAD truth is that Pinkberry actually WAS a client and they did not do much for them at all. Very funny stuff, but totally ironic really – this will probably get Pinkberry more exposure than anything that WME ever did for them as a client! Such is Hollywood….
God awful. Thank god these tools are agents and not actors.
for once, this site’s weird obsession with talent agencies pays off. nice.
“Creativity?” More like Cliche, and not really funny. At least ENTOURAGE is fun while this is just a waste.
I kept confusing Miles Fisher with PdA.
