Former AOL Time Warner COO Robert Pittman and his partner Andrew Russell have joined the investor roster of GeekChicDaily, the fanboy-geared website founded last fall by web entrepreneur Peter Levin, Wizard Entertainment’s Gareb Shamus and Mandalay Entertainment Group CEO Peter Guber. Pittman’s investment is low six-figures. Pittman was an early investor in Daily Candy, hatched by Pete Sheinbaum and sold last year to Comcast for $125 million. Sheinbaum also joined the GeekChicDaily board.

GEEKCHICDAILY
(A Haiku)
Does this still exist?
Who actually reads it?
Incredibly lame.
GeekChicDaily?
Ok these are all good smart guys but WTF?
This is a group that has forgotten their demo target with their brand title.
Real “geeks” are not “chic” although it sounds like it could curry favor with the GLBT sector of fandom.
Kind of like a comic version of Sex in the City.
those bastards introduced me to the evil that is angry birds. that shit has taken over my life.
I signed up for their e-mail when you covered them a while back. Unsubscribed after about a week. They all read like short, mildly clever press releases. Just checked their website and it seems to be the same. I’m assuming they get paid for each one? Either way, no thanks.
this thing is awesome. trolling haters can hate all day long, but they nail it here. empire strikes back oven mitt? yep. awesomeness
GCD deserves an incredible shoutout on this. Bob Pittman is the man who helped turn the digital newsletter into a nationwide phenomenon. Huge congratulations to everyone involved with this.
I have been reading GCD everyday since its inception and love their daily content and the prose in which it is written. I know I’m GEEKED about this!!!
