Bravo’s new series “Bethenny Getting Married?” last night scored the highest-rated series premiere on the network ever, averaging 2.1 million total viewers, 1.35 million of them in the adults 18-49 demographic. Meanwhile, the Bravo series that spun off Bethenny, The Real Housewives of New York City, averaged 2.24 million viewers, 1.47 million of them in the 18-49 demo, for part one of its three—part reunion special. The Real Housewives of New York City recently wrapped its third season with series-high 2.64 million viewers tuning in for the finale.
Meanwhile, the 2010 CMT Music Awards drew the awards franchise largest audience on Wednesday night, 3.0 million, and second-best 18-49 rating, 1.4, which was up 19% from last year.

That was my first thought too. Note the timing of Jill’s desperate attempts to make up with Bethenny this season after being so nasty so long – it was only when Bravo began talks with Bethenny about her own show. Up until then Jill was trying to get Bethenny kicked off the show. Guess it worked! One of the greatest comeuppances ever in fiction or nonfiction.
If the ratings hold up, Bravo will probably look at a spinoff for each of its Housewives series. It seems like they are stretching their ideas to thin. Does anyone remember when Bravo actually had arts and cultural programming? I guess that goes back to when A&E really meant arts and entertainment, and MTV actually stood for music television and played music. Next, History is moving away from history!
Oh well, all the crappy programming on TV these days makes it really easy to turn it off.

With the success of this trash and the other “reality” programing on television, women have forever forfeited the right to badmouth ANYTHING their husbands/boyfriends watch. This includes our spending the entire weekend on the couch come football season.

Bethanny is a coniver, she used Jill. Look where she came from a working chef to having her own show. She is the most coniving and rudest of all the house wifes. I will not watch this show and hope it fails miserably.
