EXCLUSIVE: Maybe The Life & Times Of Tim should be renamed The Many Lives of Tim. The underrated animated series by Steve Dildarian has been quietly cancelled by HBO after two seasons. But there is a chance that the show would continue somewhere else. I hear producing company MRC has taken the project to Comedy Central, Adult Swim and TBS and there is interest from more than one place. A deal would be complex as it would include the existing 20 episodes as well as a potential new season of the show, about a guy who finds himself in increasingly awkward situations at work and at home. Tim started off as a 2007 pilot at Fox produced by Warner Bros. TV and studio-based Good Humor TV. After Fox passed on the pilot, it was taken to Comedy Central, which was interested but WBTV couldn’t close a deal there and eventually released the project. MRC then came in and set Tim up at HBO with a 10-episode order with Dildarian and Good Humor on board. The second season of Tim ran in a block with another MRC-produced animated comedy series, freshman The Ricky Gervais Show, which has been renewed by HBO.

Another MRC failure…
Modi has completely ruined Asif’s reputation in the business and finance community with this nightmare company.
It’s just not funny. And is visually ugly. No loss here.
This show is utterly hilarious! The simplistic visual style is endearing and the dialog is fantastic. This is one of the few shows on television I could watch over and over.
Right on!
GREAT show.. you naysayers obviously have vested interest in it’s demise. Brilliant writing.. keep it up
F**k you HBO. How can you cancel the best shows year after year? Deadwood! John fro Cincinnati! now this!! WTF!!!
Come on Comedy Central, be our savior again. You saved Futurama, you can save Tim too!!
This is one of the best animation shows on TV. Can’t understand whey HBO dropped it. Please find a new home for TIM!!!
Actually Comedy Central didn’t save Futurama. Adult swim did. Hopefully they can do the same for Tim. That show rocks ! I can’t believe HBO. Next they’ll cancel Boardwalk Empire because the show sucks so much (sarcastically).
this show deserves a renewal on another network. HBO never gave it a good timeslot to thrive. most people i knew had never heard of the show. really funny show which could thrive at say comedy central or cartoon network.
This show is quality entertainment and laughs. I watch a ton of TV and I’m a die hard HBO fan. But I don’t understand why Tim got cancelled and why the Ricky Gervais show got renewed. Someone please give Tim a new life. Did anyone watch the Halloween/hot dog costume episode? Solid.
This is one of my favorite shows. Too bad it’s leaving HBO. The humor is dry and outrageous. Tim tries to do well, but always fails. The voice work is great. The animation is cheap, but it fits the show perfectly. And it’s a lot funnier than anything on network except for Big Bang Theory.
HBO really fumbled with the cancellatin of Tim! A very unique and original show full of great characters and hilarious situations – why would they drop this from their lineup? Hopefully this one can find a new home in a place that appreciates it. I’ll be suure to watch.
I LOVED TIM! I will be sure to follow it when it finds a new home. Tim was my favorite show on HBO next to Curb. I have faith the right network will pick it up and it will be a huge success!
the second season had an average 112.000 viewers per episode. cancellation hardly a surprise.
I hope this doesn’t send Joe Hipps off on an eating binge again
wally: what does that have to do with anything? uncool. get a life, you as*hole!
Cheap shot Wally. Joe Hipps is one of those rare Suits who is truly hilarious and isn’t full of shit. Plus, he’s dead sexy.
Tim is an awesome show that will become a cult favorite, like Family Guy, Futurama, etc. Cleverly written and funny as hell. Looking forward to seeing it on CN or Comedy Central. Can’t see why either wouldn’t jump at the opportunity.
It’s a shame to see this fantastic show leave! It’s arguably better than the Ricky Gervais one… I hope it finds a home on another channel. Get off your ass, Comedy Central/Adult Swim/TBS!
I love this show – the bathroom attendant episode makes me giggle just thinking about it. Doesn’t seem like HBO gave it much promotion…come on, adult swim!
I love this show. Someone needs to pick this up.
This show is brilliant in it’s subtlety. What a shame that HBO is cancelling it, not a surprise though given that network’s proclivity for unfunny, entitled executives. This could be a huge get for the Adult Swim Block or TBS to pair with Neighbors From Hell. I don’t care who, but someone out there has to be smart enough to recognize the genius in this show and pick it up.
NO! I just discovered this show. Possibly the funniest animated show I’ve ever seen.
wow, you’ve got to give credit to all the crew members posting here and the creative names they’re posting under. awesome way to make HBO think they’ve made a mistake.
Wow. I would think they would have better things to do than write comments talking about how their show was awesome. Besides, I am a huge fan and people have different tastes. Just because you didn’t like it, doesn’t mean others don’t. I liked the show after both seasons were canceled, but I would watch it on something other than HBO. Are you paranoid?
This show was hilarious! Damn HBO moved it around this past season. The Rick Gervais is nothing compared to Tim. I hope Comedy Central or Adult Swim picks it up.
I’ll keep my fingers crossed for a reprieve. I love the show, and – gasp! – I don’t work for it!
This is one of the absolute funniest shows on TV. I hope someone picks it up, and does a proper job promoting it. Tons of potential to develop into a real hit.
I loved this show! Debbie the Prostitute, and her insane interactions with Tim, were so funny! Here’s hoping it finds a new home…
Yay!
I was a fan of this show but it always seemed like it made for a better web series than TV show.
the show is funny, but so not for HBO. i remembered season one was paired with True Blood, the second season was paired with that Ricky Gervais animated podcast show, both not ideal with Tim at all. hope if find another home…even FX, they have Archer and Louie.
I love this show. Tim is hysterical. Steve Dildaryun is an original. Please please tell me where i can see more.
