Tamblyn is expected to, at least in part, fill the void left by House co-star Olivia Wilde who will be away from the show for a number of episodes this coming season while shooting Cowboys & Aliens. The seventh season of House premieres Monday, Sept. 20. Tamblyn, who got her break on the CBS drama Joan of Arcadia, will next be seen in Danny Boyle’s 127 Hours opposite James Franco. She also starred on the underrated ABC dramedy The Unusuals and in the two Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants movies. She is with WME and Joan Hyler.

Why not just bring back Jennifer Morrison??? Come on people!
hyler never sleeps!
I wholeheartedly approve this casting, especially the part about her character not being qualified to practice medicine. It finally seems like the show is becoming fun again.
… also (for “P”) Let it go already!
Amber Tamblyn was on General Hospital for many years before she did Joan of Arcadia. I would have hoped that the void left by Olivia Wilde would be filled partially by some of the regulars who were backburned when her storyline took over the show.
AGREED!! I see no need at all for a new cast member. In fact, they could get rid of 2 and the show would be perfect!
Ah, some new Amber goodness. Absolutely loved her in The Unusuals (damn you, ABC, for killing it!).
The Unusuals never should have been cancelled. It was phenomenal. Interesting, unique, funny, poignant, and original as hell.
I remember 10 years ago talking to two of Amber’s cast-mates on General Hospital who felt she had no career off the show. Now look at her – and those actors are still on soaps.
Good for her for taking a chance.
Tamblyn may be one of the best actresses of her generation. That’s a huge win for House.
She was fantastic in both the Unusuals and Joan of Arcadia.
“Tamblyn may be one of the best actresses of her generation” Please put the crack pipe down before posting at Deadline.
I agree wholeheartedly. She’s one of those people who screams “I’m an actress!” and I can never believe her characters
Ummm… so did the producers really need one more opportunity to give poor Jennifer Morrison the finger, or what?
I haven’t watched House since she left, and it looks like I won’t be going back anytime soon.
I don’t see it.
Bring back the old stars of House. Amber, pleeeeaaasseeee.
Amber Tamblyn is a great addition to the already great show! She has the ability to bring in an intriguing and hopefully funny personality to the mix. I wish the Unusuals had not been cancelled. Lost a good show
The Unusuals was a very good show and far superior than most shows on the tube.
Amber really shined in it along side that little guy, whatever his name was.
I think it’s ridiculous that her character is a med student. There’s no way that would ever work out, and the only reason I watched this show was because it was the only medical drama that was somewhat believable. No med student gets to take time out of clerkships to just hang out working at another hospital. Load of crap. Maybe I’ll watch again when Tamblyn is off the show.
never heard of or dont care to of the unusuals. but amber would be a great addition to House. and the regs. they have on now, keep them on.and to that person who dont watch the show because Cameron isnt on, you missin out on some good shows!
I’ve watched House since it first aired. I’ve also never heard of Amber Tamblyn until last night. And I wish it has stayed that way. The casting execs and writers have lost their minds. This was the worst show ever. Basically, she’s a female Doogie Howser. Really? She belongs back on soap operas based on her “acting”. And I was so distracted whenever they filmed her entire body. They had to hide her enormous legs in opaque black tights (not enough Lycra in the world to hide this future Kirstie Alley). And she walks in high heels like a Tranny-Frankenstein. Some sites hint at a “romance” between her character and the Chase character. Chase must go deaf and blind and lose nerve function in his hands if that comes to pass. Please get this stupid cow off this show.
