EXCLUSIVE: BET has greenlighted comedy pilot Reed Between the Lines, produced by and starring former Girlfiends star Tracee Ellis Ross. The project, written by Kellie Griffin, centers on Dr. Carla Reed (Ross), a busy psychiatrist, wife and mom struggling to balance her job and her happy but chaotic homelife. Griffin and Arthur Harris co-executive produce the pilot, slated to begin production on Aug. 11 in Atlanta. Ross, who recently starred in Nora and Delia Ephron’s Love Loss and What I Wore at the Geffen Playhouse, is repped by ICM and Impression Entertainment. BET recently reentered the original scripted series arena with upcoming comedy series Let’s Stay Together, produced by Queen Latifah, and The Game, a new reincarnation of the Gilrfriends spinoff.

Congratulations once again to “my best friend from high school – Kellie Griffin.” You are a star in your own right and you have worked long and hard to achieve your goals and dreams. This is fantastic but the yet is yet to come!!!!
Oops. The first yet should be best.
Big fan of Ellis Ross and her “Girlfriends” work.
Is there anyone not related to Griffin, or not a high school friend, who can speak to the quality of her work? Just wondering….
BRAVO!!…Kellie Griffin is an amazing writer. Tracee Ellis Ross is a wonderful actress. This combo should have us all LOL. Kudos to Kellie for bringing the complex roles of wife, mother and PSYCHIATRIST to the small screen. Can’t wait…when will it air?
Kiss Kiss bang bang Tracey.
Be a bond girl
The article should mention, that KELLIE GRIFFIN was in the middle of the controversy of T.Perry letting his initial writers go, JUST because he didn’t want to give them health insurance and residuals… it was because of HER and those writers, that Tyler is now a UNION show (supposedly)… And, the story goes… YOU CANT KEEP A GOOD WRITER DOWN!!!
