Brian Austin Green is finalizing a deal to join ABC’s veteran dramedy Desperate Housewives for a major recurring role next season. The Beverly Hills, 90210 alum will play Keith, a new contractor and charming playboy who turns up the heat on Wisteria Lane. Green, repped by APA and manager Tracy Samuels, is expected to appear in as many as 8 of the show’s first 10 episodes. He landed the role after meeting with creator Marc Cherry last week. Green is the second major new addition to Desperate Housewives‘ next season so far. Vanessa Williams recently joined the cast of the show as a new regular. Green is coming off a sci-fi streak, having co-starred on Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and recurred on Smallville.

Lucky guy – marries long-time love Megan Fox and now joins Housewives. All within a couple weeks!
I don’t think he is that lucky at all. He married a high maintenance, pain in the butt, no talent, ditzy broad and he got a role on a show 4 years past it’s prime. I see divorce and cancellation in his future!
Realist: let’s be realistic. There are MANY guys out there who would kill to either be married to Megan Fox, or else to be married to a girl as hot as she is. Obviously, if they’ve been together for several years and even survived her sudden jump to fame (and fall into infamy), there must also be something substantive to their relationship. So that’s double points.
As for “Housewives,” I agree that the show is well past its prime. But, so what? His episodic quote has to be somewhere in the neighborhood of $60k-$70k/episode, if not higher. Even Dean Cain gets in the range of $90k/episode. If Brian only works for 8 episodes before he’s either written off or the show gets cancelled, that’s nearly half a million dollars that he’s earned for 2-3 months’ work.
What in the world is wrong with that?
‘So what’ that DH is past its prime? A good actor wants to be with a winning team. He doesn’t want to be the benchwarmer called in with two minutes left in the game when he can’t affect the outcome either way.
(As for guys who would kill to be married to Megan Fox, speak for yourself. Good looks only go so far in the relationship when the woman has nothing to offer in the brains department.)
In my memory, BAG was eternally that baby-faced annoyance from 90210, but his Metallo on Smallville was impressive. He was mature and sexy. I approve of this casting.
He read for a pilot of mine once. He was high as a kite—almost floated into the room, then couldn’t keep a straight face. Could’ve been the crappy dialogue or the fact that he was blitzed. Good luck, Marc!
is housewives still on?….the shark has been officially jumped
Agreed.
Yes and it’s one of the top programs in the world.
what about jake pavelka and mario lopez on housewives
good for him…
he’s gotta lose the george michael headshot….GM is not in vogue right now..
Why don’t people take it easy on the guy? Maybe your pilot sucked bro and he had to come in high to deal with how shitty it was.
You all are a bunch of negative haters. BAG rocks and will be great for the show! He was great on 90210 and he’ll be great again! And no it hasn’t jumped the shark. Maybe if you guys watched it you would know that.
I’ve watched it recently. It’s terrible. When ABC figures out what to replace it with, it will be gone soon enough.
Not a bad couple of weeks for BAG. He marries Megan Fox and then gets cast in a TV show. We should all be so lucky.
Jumped… the… shark!
And then went ahead and added another shark-jumping motorcyclist.
Well played.
Jasper was, is, and will be Jasper’s Law. Not Silver.
Give them credit for maintaining a low relationship profile even while Megan is always covered by the tabloids. I think they are cool together. If Megan was such a “bitch” and “high maintenance” don’t you think she would have dumped the boy from the old school “90210″ in favor of someone else with more fame?
Finally, I am sure many shows would KILL to get the 13-14 million viewers a week (not including time shifted numbers) that the “Past It’s Prime” Desperate Housewives currently gets. What’s wrong with signing on to a show and being exposed to 13-14 million people a week?
Funny that now he will probably be the one that will bring money to the family
Since Megan Fox career is officially over. Anyone thinks that that movie with Mickey Rourke will tank as hard as Jonah Hex? It will. The only place she will earn money is from photoshoots for magazines or AD.
But i’m glad for Brian. I kind of even felt sorry for him that he has to live in Megan’s spotlight and not even had a job. Housewifes is a big show and he will be in spotlight of his own.
Not a bad move, the show has proven popular, and one would think that one of the characters is going to get a spinoff series. If his character has some depth and history/future, possibilities might be there.
