Way more interesting than this Bravo video clip of Lindsay Lohan being fawned over after showing up 11 hours late to a photo session is The Young Turks’ commentary about it here. (“That’s why she thinks she’s untouchable… They’re enabling her behavior… They’re constantly giving her encouragement to be the train wreck that she is.”) But is this Hollywood’s fault — or the media’s?
Editor-in-Chief Nikki Finke - tip her here.

What makes these Young Turks young turks? Other than being younger than me and arguably Turkish in appearance? Are they the new faces of TV journalism? Waiting to step into, oh, Mary Hartman’s shoes?
The rant is pretty well-justified, but people who choose to be in front of the lens often times are predisposed to temper tantrums. When an actor or model is late, and the crew permits the behavior because a loss of the subject would mean more money lost or the project loss, a grand facade is put on to make them feel too guilty to lash out. They can literally be blinded by compliments and cajoled into working. Talent soon depends on this crew behavior to enhance their feelings about their image and in order for the moods to not go swinging. Directors and photographers deal with this all the time. I can tell you there is more recourse than the crew could have done rather than just call her agent. Every celebrity has an enemy who will work without a budget to garner the attention and spite those who misbehaved. These enemies know several gigs will result from repairing the wounded shoot, and in Lohan’s case, you’d no doubt find someone more profitable with more integrity. We really enjoy the actors who care about their craft and don’t take themselves too seriously, but there are moments when you cringe after a casting decision is made, because the subject can make your life that much harder. In the end, some are your friends and others should just be regarded as avatars on the screen.
If she was doing all the right things and not getting into trouble, she would be as boring as Emma Watson and no one would really give a shit.
Despite all the bullshit, she is still empirically hot, and her antics only make her more of a femme fatale.
Just admit it, all you haters still want to fuck her. Jealous and self-loathing much?
She’s the total package.
Total skank.
Writes f u on her nail , to a judge.
Her brain is fried.
Totally.
This is a perfect example of the bullshit we in Hollywood put up with to get our jobs done. Unfortunately, these talentless, selfish actors are coddled be/c we need to get our jobs done. I’m guilty of it myself. And it makes me $^&*( sick.
I love our business. I feel fortunate to be a working professional in Hollywood. But nothing churns my stomach more than this sort of a situation. Except for the sickening sycophantic enabling by personal publicists (who are only as valuable to me as the clients they represent — see you on the way down, sister). I have a job to do and I show up for it on time. What gives Lohan the right to waste the time and money of all those professionals who have spent their day waiting all those hours for her (overtime or not)? I mean seriously.
I agree with the post above. Grin and bear it, and then sue later. Lest not forget — these actors need us as much as we need them.
