I love LET THE RIGHT ON IN.
I’m not as against the remake as much as the rest of the internet is.
I’m not even as much of an enemy of CLOVERFIELD the way the rest of the Internet is.
I’m fully convinced a good film can be made given the source material, filmmakers, and actors involved.
But that trailer is awful.
Another Americanization of a great Euro film that will be dogshit.

WOW! that looks very good. The trailer for the original didn’t even pull me in as much as this one. Can’t wait.
I don’t care. Not going. The original is just too good to be remade. Hope it does well anyway.
Is this a British film? I thought Tim Adler only covered Britain/Europe.
Since the original was so good, this seriously begs the question: why the fuck remake it? Especially since it’s hardly even 2 years old.
Every remake decision is the product of exploitable property + untapped opportunity. This one is aimed at the vast market comprised of people that would never even look at a foreign-language movie, no matter how good or how recent. Film is an enrepreneurial busness, and that’s how it’s always worked from the very beginning.
I think the remake looks crude and on-the-nose compared to the original, and I’ve no personal urge to see it. But for every one like me there’s a thousand who’ll lay their money down.
It’s produced by the newly revived Hammer Films, which is a name that should be known to anyone interested in British horror.
It was also financed by a UK company/fund–Hammer and Exclusive.
To save everybody a bit of time, the Morse code at the end says “HELP ME”.

So we are slightly concealing this remake with a slightly different title and no end credits to clue us in. I’m surprised Deadline would trash its stand on unnecessary remakes just to add trailer filler to the site. Enough of these trailers anyway, either you get paid to post them (and say so) or get rid of ‘em…credibility calling.

I’ve seen it, the movie is nothing like you describe.
There was no need to remake this movie other than to cash in on the vampire thing.
That said, they seem to have stayed true to the original’s look, which is a good first step.

Looks well done, and similar to the original, but how do you market a movie like this in the US?
why does Hollywood feel like they need to adapt a perfectly good foreign film?!?! ARGH! I’m not watching this.
The original has such a stark, chilly original feel that wasn’t afraid to be paced and hesitate with that European style I love.

Looks like they are including a lot of the material from the book that was left out of the original. This is a good thing. The movie was really good chiefly because of its setting, mood, and some of its themes. But there is so much more PLOT in the book.
Looks awful. Lacks the intimacy of the brilliant Swedish film.
I’ll be the odd one out and say the trailer looks pretty good. I don’t quite get all the fuss over “Let the Right One In” anyway. The film was fine, but it felt ploddingly paced.
The only thing that worries me about this release is that if they market it as a “normal” horror film, it’ll tank. Then again, if people are screaming at the horrible “Paranormal Activity 2″ trailer, what do I know…
