FX is taking a jump on fall season, rolling out its fall premieres in the two weeks before the broadcast networks unleash their new/returning series. Biker drama Sons of Anarchy returns for Season 3 on Tuesday, Sept. 7, at 10 PM, while new PI comedic drama Terriers, from Ted Griffin and Shawn Ryan, will make its debut the following night, Sept. 8, at 10 PM. I’m curious to see how a lighter procedural, a genre that is so hot in cable via USA and now TNT and A&E, will do on FX, probably the grittiest basic cable brand in the hourlong arena. As for comedies, Season 6 of the channel’s veteran It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia premieres Thursday, Sept. 16, at 10 PM, followed by the second season debut of The League at 10:30 PM.

Terriers was AWESOME. Glad Donal Logue finally found a show that really works. I wouldn’t compare it to a USA show, definitely grittier then those shows. It almost played more like a slightly darker Big Lebowski without the stoner vibe.
I really hope Terriers isn’t a USA or TNT style procedural. I can’t stand that generic crap. The networks, A&E and even SyFy are already copying that style.
To save their brand they really shouldn’t air a show that is lighter in tone than Justified. Even the first half of that show had episodes that where to light. Luckily the second half was way better and serialized like a classic FX show, but they already lost a lot of viewers after the pilot because the typical FX crowd was disappointed and checked out early.
Terrier’s isn’t really light at all. I’ve seen a few of the early episodes, and it’s pretty dark and gritty all over. I think it’ll fit in pretty well on the network. Oh, and Logue is great.
Any word on Damages? Is it going to Direct TV?
I know. Please let it live on. I feel like the Emmy’s will make it or break it depending if it wins or not.
More importantly, when does Archer return?
Just waiting from riding when Sons of Anarchy Premiers. First two seasons were great. I know that they will keep up the good work.
can someone just say it? Its Always Sunny is the most overrrated comedy on the air….stopped being good years ago, and writers are the only one who dont know it.
Damn and all this time I was laughing at the show when I didn’t know any better. I will inform my friends so nobody else will find out how outdated we are. I’ll leave it up to you to tell FX they need to cancel the show.
I can’t wait for Sons of Anarchy! It’s the only show worth watching. I want a motorcycle because of that show.
