EXCLUSIVE: Producer Gary Randall has inked a new two-year first-look deal with Fox TV Studios. The news follows the strong premiere of Randall’s second series for the studio, The Glades, on A&E. Randall joined FtvS in 2004, about the time the studio began its push in original series, and has been there ever since, developing and producing projects through his Grand Prods. He executive produced FtvS’ drama series Saving Grace starring Holly Hunter, which ended its 3-season run on TNT on June 21. The Glades, which Randall executive produces with creator Clifton Campbell, debuted with 3.6 million viewers on Sunday, breaking A&E’s records for most-watched and highest-rated original drama series telecast ever. Randall is repped by attorney Brad Small.

congratulations to Gary. He’s one of the good ones- smart and persistent!
Years ago I had the pleasure of taking out a pitch with Gary. In a decade of working in the business, he’s one of the few producers I’ve met who has great ideas, great respect for writers, does what he says and says what he does, and understands that the process, regardless of a sale or not, is and should be fun.
Gary Randall is one infectious human being. How can one not like him. He is just….well, Grand!
If you are blessed enough to spend some time with Randall, get him to tell you the story of casting Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck, both in deep retirement, in one of his TV movies. Both of them had read the script, mirable dictu, and loved it. Randall was overjoyed. Right up until he went in to tell the the network. And the dipshit, CBS exec who nixed in in favor of Angela Landsberry and Tom Bosley.
