I’m told that Kevin Bacon has the offer and is negotiating to play the villain role in X-Men: First Class. Not sure of his character, and they have to make his deal, but Bacon would line up nicely alongside James McAvoy (Xavier), Michael Fassbender (Magneto), Alice Eve (Emma Frost), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Caleb Landry Jones (Banshee), and Lucas Till (Havoc). Director Matthew Vaughn is casting up a storm as the picture nears the start line.

That is SO cool. Kevin Bacon is THE BEST. What a smart, amazing cast Vaughn is putting together.
Indeed. What a cast!
kEVIN bACON AS AN X-MEN vILLAIN!! HELL YEAH!!
Mister Sinister perhaps?
Woah…damnit! I hate to admit it…but I might be a interested in this after all. Bacon is the shit. He’ll probably play Mr. Sinister or Proteus.
He’s too old for Proteus.
You can thank Mr. Madeoff for Bacon’s involvement in this flick
I bet he will play a boring human roll.
WRONG!!!! HE WAS THE BEST VILLAIN!
Ideal and ironic choice is Quicksilver (sorry if I already posted)
Quicksilver is Magneto’s son. Couldn’t work.
“Quicksilver” is the name of a Kevin Bacon film from the ’80s.
Look at the face:
He’s Apocalypse.
He’s got the perfect face for Apocalypse!
Man, please let it be Mr. Sinister. Best X-Men villain of all time and PERFECT casting!
This is good, good news.
Does anyone know if Magneto is involved in this script in any capacity? I’d assume he’d have to be in some sort of way.
(Apologies if this is common knowledge already.)
Bacon lends a credibility to whatever villain he’d play. (As opposed to someone like Jack who made The Joker a little too out of reach.)
This thing is going to be great if Bacon happens.
Casting up a STORM! Get it?
Kevin Bacon always classes up any film he’s in.
And he’s not unwilling to play small roles which is very cool.
Um… Really? “Always classes up any film he’s in…”? Like HOLLOW MAN? Or WILD THINGS? Hey, I think he’s talented and definitely does great work with the right part, but let’s not pretend he’s distinguished thespian who elevates material based on his participation alone. But still, definitely continuing the trend of strong casting on the project.
Woodsmen?
Love Kevin Bacon, he’s great in everything. (Especially Will & Grace!) I still remember him as Tim on “The Guiding Light”. And he still kind of looks the same, he doesn’t age.
“Black Tom” Cassidy!- Kevin Bacon with black hair and a gotee.
Man, please let it be Mr. Sinister. Best X-Men villain of all time and PERFECT casting!
Glad someone is putting him in something with teeth.
His superpower is being six degrees of separation from every other mutant on earth.

Just don’t screw up the casting of Cyclops! That Taylor Lautner rumor almost pushed me to suicide.
Am I the only one who thinks he would not be right for an X-Men movie? I feel like he could bring a level of cheesiness to the it that the previous movies were plagued by. I guess it does depend on what the character is. He could play a human, maybe a redneck with a mullet, a shotgun, and a beer who gets destroyed by a mutant before he gets to utter one single line. And the best part is he wouldn’t have to do any research for the part! It’s the role he was born to play.
Okay, perhaps that was a bit much. Mr. Bacon is a fine actor. One of the best in his generation. I have nothing against him. However, he is too big of a name to cast in this movie.
I just don’t see how Kevin ’6 Degrees’ Bacon could possibly fit into the X-Men world without the audience always being aware of who he is. He would need some kind of makeup or costume to cover his face enough for the audience to forget it is him and get lost in the character.
I will be interested to see how this story develops though. The rest of the casting seems pretty solid so far. I really hope the whole production isn’t too rushed and we finally get a quality X-Men film.
I hope the Movie is at least 3 hours long an accurately connects the different comic plots together both backwards and forwards. Also, I hope it corrects some of the errors within the our X-men movies and accurate reveals the children of various X-men leading into the next movie saga.

For example, even Professor X had a son. I would like to see a movie about how Apocalypse became Apocalypse.
Kevin Bacon is the shit!!!! I love that guy!!!
Every film he’s in gets better just by having him there!!!
He reminds me of old Hollywood – Lots of class, and a damn fine actor.
I’m gonna go to this film now!!
Arcade…
If those characters are involved I can see him playing Hodge of the Right or Lange, even Mastermind. He’s not imposing enough for Apocalypse.
