Is WME the coldest place on earth? No one wants to be there… Not even the agents who all hate each other. That merger was a nightmare.
the hundreds of unemployed actors and writers they rep must be thrilled.
Where does all of that put Joan Rivers? Does this mean all the CAA loser clients like the former Meg Ryan are going to be selling stuff on QVC?
Mattel is represented? Why haven’t they made any movies?
my money’s on wme
Let’s see… Hasbro’s stock grew by 80% in the last 2 years vs. 30% for Mattel. HSN’s stock in the last year went from $9 to $30 and is all over the press for being a darling success story. Makes sense why CAA is copycatting a step behind WME.
Nice move to bring the retail biz even closer to the entertainment biz
Business models are being reinvented everywhere. Seems like another game-changing move!
After reading this, I have to conclude that everyone has to be represented by an agency in order to make it in this world? It does not matter if you are in show biz or not. If you are a designer, you have to have an agent, if you are a fashion stylist too, etc. etc. And now, if you are an established business you have to have representation as well? Then, who represents the agents themselves? I am sure they have them too!!! This is incomprehensible to me. I need further clarification on the matter.
