ABC’s original scripted series Scoundrels (0.7 rating/2 share) and The Gates (0.9/3) both posted double-digit declines in the 18-49 demo from last week, 13% and 10% respectively, hitting all-time lows. Once again first-run scripted shows were the lowest-rated for the night, with Scoundrels and Fox’s Sons of Tucson original (0.6/2) at 7 PM. CBS’ Big Brother (2.3/8) at 8PM, the only other original entertainment option on broadcast, was the top-rated program for the night, down 4% from its Sunday premiere last week. Fox won the night in adults 18-49 on the strength of its animated comedy repeats, led by back-to-back episodes of Family Guy (2.0/6, 2.1/6) at 9 PM and 9:30 PM.

The Gates is actually a great show, I was very surprised but liked it alot from the very first episode. Please do not cancel it but try to change the time slot to earlier. Great actors and acting!

I think The Gates is a lot of fun. I am thoroughly enjoying it, and hey – I can even spell! I think that with attention to detail and craft this series should continue;it is very entertaining.The actor playing the Sheriff is perfect for the role, he is so sincere and innocent in his manner that it is almost believable that he would choose to take the side of these strange populations and protect them. I am sad that it may end.
If you liked scoundrels find episodes out outrageous fortune on the net, scoundrels is a bit weak (and dare I say far too americanised) compared to the original. Come on, they don’t even swear in this one..
I hope they keep this show! It is one of my favorites right now! I just think the thing that hurts this show is the time it comes on…Sunday nights at 10? Sort of a wierd time for a show but I will continue to get caught up with episodes online! KEEP THE GATES!!!!
I loved both shows! I agree that every time I find a summer show that I think is awesome, it gets dumped! I didnt miss one episode of either show and it never crossed my mind that they would get cancelled. I thought scoundrels had a little of everything and I
found myself laughing my ass off half the time. I havent seen the
other show that some on here say was the original, I thought this was very clever and different. AS for The Gates, I again have not watched any of the other vampire series, but I found this to be everything that K.C. posted. So if they have both been cancelled, then, ABC, YOU SHOULD BE READING THESE COMMENTS, BECAUSE MOST OF US LOVED THESE SHOWS! And by the way this is the FIRST time I have ever posted a comment on the net, thats how much I like these two shows! But I don,t think these are ever read by the powers that be (ABC), to bad for them and us!

I don’t watch alot of tv but I love The Gates. The hour goes by so quick and all I want is more. The plot just keeps coming and keeps you hanging after every episode. I doubt the big wigs look at this I wish they would. The Gates would do much better in a different time slot. I’m an adult but think an earlier time slot would attract a lot of younger fans. I was under the impression it was coming back in the Fall obviously this was wrong. I hope at least they bring it back mid season as they do The Bachelor. And I have also never commented on a TV show before on the web. Please return The Gates it has a great set of actors that have alot of chemistry with eachother. PLEASE KEEP THE GATES. Even us middle age mom’s need an hour to escape reality…and The Gates is a great place to do this….
ABC needs to get it together!!! I mean other than grey’s anatomy and private practice i have no reason to go there. I finally found a show that catches my interest which is unique unlike all the shows that come which are a cheap imitation of a better serious and they want to cancel due to low ratingss. All I hav to say is steupssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss. Organise allyuh self ABC
OMG!! its the GATES I speaking about I was just so upset when I heard there mite not b a season 2.Its an original series and it should stay. And it should have more episode and not b shown only in summer
I LOVE THE GATES!!!! Please, please, please don’t cancel it. There is so many questions unanswered and alot going on and I think that is a big reason that the show doesn’t have great ratings. If you haven’t seen the premire episode then every time you see a episode of The Gates, you will probably be more confused than before you sat down to watch it. I accidentaly erased the premire to the gates from my DVR and it was the only episode that my boyfriend didn’t get a chance too see, and because of that, it was so hard to get him to sit down and actually watch it. I know since the Twillight Saga, no one can shut up and stop making series about vampires, but I LOVE IT!! I love Claire and Dylan and they’re attempt at normality, you finally get to see Claire get down and dirty in the finale. The ending of the gates actually kind of pissed me off but I don’t care I want another season, even if it is cancelled, I got to find out what happens to Charlie, Andie, Jes, Devan, Nick, and Peg. I LOVE THE GATES AND I CANT HELP IT, I GOT SUCKED INTO IT!! LOVE IT CAN’T WAIT FOR SEASON 2!!!! I hope it doesn’t end. I was soo ingrossed in ABC’s “original series of “Happy Town” Happy town had such low ratings, and I saw that ABC had cancelled it. They never said anything on the TV about it not coming on, and dammmit I never got to find out who the Magic Man was. It sucked. I felt, RIPPED OFF! I was so scared the whole series of The Gates because I thought it would of just stopped showing the episodes out of no where and I thought that was going to happen with the gates, but I’m glad to say they showed every episode. I really wanted to give my opinion but I didnt want it long like Rob, because I want my opinion read. Sorry so long

I too look forward to ‘The Gates’ each week. I’m really getting tired of getting into these programs the just not finishing them…’Happy Town’! Why can’t they just complete the stories????

I’ve enjoyed “The Gates” even though I was a little skittish due to the “Eastwick” issue. The story is pretty cool, slightly original, but the characters are what make it good. Recent plot twists are also compelling… so I hope it is renewed!
the mentality of a network exec.-” if I want to kill a series before it begins”I’ll give it a sucky time slot and have it up against already established shows.Then the final nail in the coffin- very little advertising,if any!
Reality shows are so stupid,and the exec.thinks the american audience is so lacking in intelligence that “we’ll dumb down tv and then the people won’t have to think and we’ll make more money.”Shame on you -keep the gates and prove me wrong!!!!
I am enjoying Gates and I hope it returns for the second season. Of course it is not as hardcore as True Blood but it’s close enough. It sure is holding my attention and I watched it every Sunday at 10:00 p.m. I like the acting and recognize some faces and take notice of new faces. Please bring this show back and give it a chance to take root.
Please return the Gates to television. You get people intereseted into something then pull it away! It was actually something my entire fgamily sat down together and watched. The age gruop being 4-57 and I really enjoyed that and also told others that began watching the show. You get hooked then yall pull the plug. I will ban all shows on ABC if they cant give me what I enjoy watching.
