In its second airing last night, TNT’s new drama series Rizzoli & Isles drew a big 7.3 million viewers, dropping only 4% from its record-setting debut last week. What’s more, the crime procedural starring Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander built on its Closer lead-in in total viewers (7.0 million). Last week, Rizzoli averaged 7.6 million viewers to Closer‘s 7.7 million. Just like last week, Rizzoli outperformed Closer in all key demos, including adults 18-49, in which the new series averaged 2.0 million viewers least night. Meanwhile, Closer continues to track higher than last season, with Episode 2 up 8% vs. last year.
Over at Lifetime, the original movie The Client List starring Jennifer Love Hewitt as a mom-turned-prostitute averaged 3.9 million in its premiere last night, 1.9 million of them in the 18-49 demographic, to rank as the second most-watched cable movie this year.

Is Jennifer Aniston pregnant with John Mayers baby?
Don’t forget that one of the best shows on tv True Blood garnered 4.9 million viewers on Sunday Night. It was nominated for Outstanding Drama at this years Primetime Emmys. This season of True Blood is really great with the werewolves and stuff.
Mad Men and Breaking Bad are better but I agree True Blood is definitely on the list of best shows.
Rizzoli & Isles is OK but reminds me alot of BONES.
Rizzoli is miles better than Bones, and to be honest, way different in tone. The characters aren’t even similar at all, so aside from it being a crime show–I’m really not seeing the similarities.
The Client List is the guilty pleasure of the year! Thought it was going to be a train wreck, but it was entertaining as hell. And Cybill Shepherd, where have you been?!?
I enjoy this show. It is just another great product from cable television, where all the great scripted shows are moving to. I cannot stand reality tv so my DVR is chock full of these great cable shows. Keep ‘em comming!
True Blood season 3 is outstanding!
I wonder how long Rizzoli’s ratings will last. Monday’s episode wasa poorly acted, badly written, and downright boring.
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the pilot. Actually i don’t like procedurals and now am liking a second one basically because i like the stars in it. ( Julianna Margulies’ ‘The Good Wife’ is the other).
Very solid performance from Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander.
Rizzoli and Isles numbers are really astonishing. By comparison a whole lot of NBC shows got around 4-5 million. The numbers for the Jennifer Love Hewitt Lifetime movie are slightly better than CW big event episodes.
At a certain point, “de-massifying” entertainment gets down to charging Bill Gates and Carlos Slim and Rupert Murdoch $200 million each. That’s not sustainable.
TNT seems on better track than Lifetime.
I love this show! Angie Harmon is really a great actress and the production quality of this show is very good, lots of really good actors.
I did not like The Closer, Royal Pains, White Collar all these low budget pseudo dramas on cable, but I must saying I am enjoying Rizzoli and Isles. Angie Harmon just has a presence on screen and her characters are so likable. The overall acting is spotty but tends towards good, but they’ve really nailed the Rizzoli character, and there’s just enough Law and Order familiarity in Angie to make me an addict to this show.
If you don’t like the closer and liked rizzoli and Isles then you should be enjoying CBS with all of it muder she wrote Gohst Whisper
and sad to say now Medium low I.Q. story lines.
