Who else wonders if, under Comcast, NBC Universal will continue to let the awful Andy Cohen run Bravo like his private playground. His awful interviews… His awful talk show… And, of course, the awful way he fills the channel with his friends. The latest Cohen BFF on Bravo is Bruce Bozzi Jr, executive vice president of the Palm Restaurants Group, who showed up on last night’s “he stole my pea puree!” episode of Top Chef Washington DC. Granted, Bruce is quite a dish himself and ready to be the next unscripted star. Not to worry, he already has an agent: he’s the longtime partner of CAA’s Bryan Lourd.

How is Bravo awful? Compared to what? MTV? Lifetime? Spkie TV? Oxygen?
Since when is nepotism or personal relationships a bad thing in Hollywood?
Julie Chen. Judd Apatow. Angelina Jolie. Drew Barrymore. Each of these people, while very talented and capable, were also helped by connections and name.
Are you going to announce their connections each time something comes up that you don’t like about their shows or movies?
I don’t care who is dating whom or knows the father of whom. I assume that as matter of course. Someone is dating someone or knows someone to get the inside track on a job or a project. Are we discussing a different industry now?
I really appreciate how you always have and always will call things as you see them. Please continue to shed light on other “awfuls” currently killing opportunity via nepotism, cronyism and bed-mates.

Yes but doesn’t Bravo get great ratings? I keep reading their ratings are really high and the network has been very successful, even more than when they had Project Runway. Those Real Housewives shows are dumb, but people eat that stuff up, those shows keep outdoing each other in ratings. Love him or hate him, the guy knows what he’s doing. Why would they get rid of him?
What exactly is the news story here? That you don’t like him? That his pal Bruce was on Bravo last night? Just trying to figure out why this is suddenly worth covering today. Are we missing something? The headline suggests that there is something behind-the-scenes to learn here. Do your job, Nikki. Snark all you want. But still report news.

Andy Cohen is absolutely horrific on air. A total embarassment to the network, which he’s turning into a poor man’s Logo. Getting drunk on air as an uncomfortablely flamoyant hack… not impressive. Can you imagine the faces of his development execs the day he pitched himself as the face of Bravo? NIGHTmare…!

Why fix what is only slightly broken?
Yes, there have been quite a few truly awful Bravo shows launched lately (Double Exposure, 9 By Design, Launch My Line, Chef Academy, Miami Social, The Fashion Show) and this season of Top Chef is the worst in years (though I still watch), and they lost Project Runway, BUT I have to say that I really enjoy Andy Cohen and I think he’s funny and he knows what the Bravo demographic wants (in general). And Bethenny Frankel and her show launched huge and stayed popular, the Hosuewives series is pricless, and Kathy Griffin, Tabatha’s Salon, Kell on Earth, Rachel Zoe and Flipping Out are all fun and cheeky. So, keep on Mazel-ing Andy!
And if you can believe it, im a straight male.
Rumor is that Kathy Griffin is gonna leave the network. Comcast is gonna have to pay her big, and offer more than a measly 8 episode season.
Bravo is not only my favorite channel but the favorite channel of almost everyone I know….gay, straight or otherwise. Andy Cohen is WHY the channel works. I love his taste when it comes to what we want to watch and I LOVE his talk show. Isn’t “Watch What Happens” beating almost all of it’s competition? Do your homework lady. And as far as his friend being on Top Chef, who cares? It was a great episode, and it was completely organic to the plot of “Top Chef.” The guys a restauranteur!! And an adorable one at that. That was a pointless “article” and it came off as sour grapes. Why are you jealous of Andy Cohen Nikki? I’ll be watching what happens for as long as bravo and Andy are around!

I remember watching the after season for Blow Out with jon sister robin, it does not matter who is hosting u watch in the hopes that they will shed light. The first time I saw him I wondered, why him. He needs to do his first job and rotate hosting(unless he is not being paid). He is getting to soft anyway.
Why so mean? I think Andy is awesome and Bruce Bozzi JR. is the perfect person to have on Top Chef, his family owns the freakin Palm. I think Andy’s reunion shows are almost better then the shows themselves, he’s not just a ‘yes” man and often calls people on their crap. I laugh out loud during “Watch What Happens” and don’t know why you need to pick on Andy, when hurtful people like Elizabeth Hasselback are on the air.

First, we were wondering how he got the easy development gig at Bravo..then we had to watch his awful shows take over pop culture..and now to have him marketed as a talk show host is really revolting. Don’t they have anyone over at Bravo that can kick his ass to the curb. Let him host a cable access show from his fancy summer home in Fire Island. UGH.

Bravo uses the tagline “Watch what happens!” It should be “Watch horrible people do horrible things!” Andy isnt an asshole b/c he’s gay. He’s an asshole b/c he has created a cable channel dedicated 2 celebrating bad behavior & horrible human beings(I use that phrase lightly). Cohen & his minions seem 2 think its normal 2 be horrible 2 others. With the exception of West Wing reruns, every single show on Bravo consists of self-absorbed, narcicistic fame whores who think that being bad makes them special. What they dont get is being an asshole only makes u an asshole. Cohen not only enables that, he embodies it. There isnt a solitary person on Bravo who can spell the word humble.

Bravo’s programming was good for a minute with Runway but it hasn’t been good for years since. Never knew this was why but it makes sense. The problem with men (gay or otherwise) trying to make things that appeal to women is that they are not women. Andy would never know Bravo’s audience (which is predominantly women) are like all women and attach to women they aspire to be, not bitch slappy hyper versions of gay men.
how then do you explain the high ratings

I mean, as long as Bravo is still making money of off general douchebaggery (and let’s be honest, Americans love watching douchebags – we like to point and say “at least I’m not like that”), who are we o judge Andy Cohen? He’s doing his job pretty well, earning returns for Bravo’s shareholders…
