EXCLUSIVE: USA Network has picked up drama series In Plain Sight for two more seasons, bringing the U.S. marshal show’s run on the cable network to five seasons. The main cast, including Mary McCormack, Frederick Weller and Paul Ben-Victor, are all set to return to IPS, which will continue to film in New Mexico. The series recently wrapped up its third season, which averaged 5.2 million viewers, 1.8 million in them in the adults 18-49 demographic. This is probably the first in a series of renewals expected at USA over the next few weeks, as the network’s original series are once again performing strongly this summer. The two-year pickup for IPS mirrors a similar two-year renewal USA gave to its flagship drama Burn Notice earlier this year.

I love this show and can not wait to begin watching the new episodes!!! Does any one know when S4 will air?
I, Also, am here trying to find out when Season 4 begins.
I absolutely love the witty repertoire that bounces back and forth between Mary and Marshall. If those two don’t end up together, I will be severely disappointed. I have to admit, I was skeptical of watching the show to start but after three episodes was hooked. It started a bit slow, but the characters began to evolve into these deep, real people with real problems. I love this show. I love the characters and I cannot wait for it to continue.
Great to see the show renewed for more seasons. Thanks to the decision makers. Great show!
The negative commenters just don’t get it.
Love this show – came into it in Season 3 and stayed glued to it. Appreciate the deeply flawed and wounded Mary character and her role and personality and Marshall’s sensitive and intelligent character as well. * Fascinating watching the show with the subtext so beautifully woven beneath their dialogue. * Like a modern day sophisticated Moonlighting (but deeper). Mary’s not even aware of her own feelings ~ very well done and utterly realistic. I don’t even care about the plots really, it’s all about the character development and arc. So glad a Season 4 is coming!
When does the new season begin?
So glad to hear about renewal! This is my favorite show. Keep up the great work!
I would also like to know when the new season begins. All of the new shows SUCK!! tHERE are SEveral I’d like to know about. Eureka. Justified.Southland, and the one about the female FBI agent that goes to some small ocean city to find out about all the spooky things going on there. Can’t remember the name of it.

My wife & I truly love “In Plain Sight”. Please don’t EVER take it off. Thanks
I have gone through with drawls waiting for this show to come back.
I have not been so hooked on a show in a long time.
I love all of the characters. I love dialogue between them, I understand and relate with the story lines, the and the interpersonal relationships are just perfect.
I have laughed and cried in all the right places.
Few shows have this type of writing prowess.
I am relieved to hear of it’s return. I was getting nervous.
But now I can relax and wait for the return of my fav show.
Hello. I am writing to let you know about how disappointed we are in last night’s episode of In Plain Sight. As I write this, I am saddened that with all of the knowledge and literature that is exists about the awareness of people with disabilities that the use of the word retarded was used at all and especially used in such an offensive way in the airing of the first show of the season of In Plain Sight. We sat down to watch one of our favorite shows from last season and were so excited about its return but then we were quickly disappointed in the use of such an offensive word by the main character of the show.
We were wanting to be entertained, not hurt. We have a beautiful nine year old with Down Syndrome that has achieved so much and is capable of so many wonderful things. That is why it is so amazing to me that the entertainment industry does not realize how hurtful the use of the word retarded is to families that have a loved one with a disability . We work so hard to make society realize just how wonderful our children are and then we have shows that use language like this to put such a negative connotation to people with disabilities.
I have contacted all National Organizations and have filed the complaint about the use of the R-Word being said in the first episode. With all the information out there about the awareness of people with disabilities, it is amazing to me that the entertainment industry still uses this offensive word. Please think before you use language that is so hurtful to families.
I agree. It is high time to stop using the R-word. It is just as hateful and hurtful as certain racist epithets.
The writers/producers of this show now have a great opportunity to set things right. I think they should have a client in the witness protection program who has Down syndrome – someone who could show Mary just what it means to be cognitively impaired and how hurtful it is when they are ridiculed.
I have a 21 year old daughter with Down syndrome and even though we have never used the word “retarded” to describe her condition she is still acutely aware that this word refers to people like herself. She is also very aware that it is an insult.
It is not an act of “political correctness” to be polite. See http://www.r-word.org/ for more information.
PLEASE DO NOT CANCEL IT. IT’S FANTASTIC! IT GIVES US AN INSIGHT ON WITNESS PROTECTION WHICH WE KNOW NOTHING ABOUT WE=AMERICAN PUBLIC. IT’S A GREAT SERIES I WATCH IT ON AXN IN THE COUNTRY TO WHERE I RETIRED.
