Eric Winter has been tapped for a recurring on CBS’ crime drama The Mentalist as a potential love interest for co-star Amanga Righetti. In pilot casting news, Rick Hoffman has joined USA Network’s A Legal Mind, while Melissa De Sousa has been added to BET’s Reed Between the Lines. On Mentalist, Winter (The Ugly Truth) will play Craig O’ Laughlin, an FBI agent who catches the attention of Grace Van Pelt (Righetti), and the two of them have chemistry. Legal Mind centers on Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams), a brilliant but unmotivated college student who gets recruited by a Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht), a lawyer at top Manhattan corporate law firm despite not having a law degree. Hoffman (Samantha Who?) will play Harvey’s competition at the firm, who is incredibly jealous when Harvey makes partner before he does and stabs him in the back. Hoffman is with Domain and Framework.

Reed centers on Dr. Carla Reed (Tracee Ellis Ross), a busy psychiatrist, wife and mom struggling to balance her job and her happy but chaotic homelife. De Sousa, repped by Stone Manners Salners and manager Laina Cohn, will play a holistic healer and acupuncturist who shares the same suite with Carla.
