If the film has half the power of “Touching the Void,” and is faithful to the book, it will be an amazing movie.
Think you’re tough? See what this guy did (and he took pictures of his ordeal), and you’ll recalibrate your measurement of guts.
No, I don’t think I’m tough. Nor do I think I’m an idiot. Which is exactly what Ralston was. Once again, just as he did with “Sunshine,” Boyle will try to cover the fact that he’s telling another tale o’ morons by slathering on the pretty cinematograpy and the camera tricks. No, thanks.
Why would anybody want to watch this, or, for that matter, the Ryan Reynolds movie where he’s stuck inside the box for the whole movie?
What’s next? “Trapped In The Office Elevator Over the Weekend: A True Story”? “Root Canal: The Movie”?
That elevator movie is in theatres soon, it’s called “Devil.”
They’re called closed space thrillers and they’re often very successful.
hahah good one. No really I did have a chuckle here chained to my desk via headset. But lets be honest cutting your own arm off in the the middle of the desert and getting stuck in an elevator are no where near comparable.
youre stupid. Buried is going to be amazing, you just dont know anything i guess
Not unlike working for the Weinsteins…
Ha! Truer words have never been said…
God there are so many elements to cinema and the visual pride themselves as important as skin to a person. Danny Boyle encapsulates such flair in contrast to the inherit sadness of his material it’s a treat.
I agree with Jiggy. I think it will be. “Touching the Void” was quite gripping throughout.
it’s so great to know that in the current climate, there’s room for a nice little charmer about a guy who sawed off his own arm with a dull knife. Awesome.
The trailer is terrific and Danny Boyle is a talented filmmaker but I guess I’m a wimp because I don’t want to look up at a big screen and see a guy removing his arm. Reading about the true story was something I’ll never forget but I’ll have friends tell me how good James Franco is…it seems like an amazing opportunity for an actor.
I’m not so sure about the film itself, but this trailer was extremely well done.
IDIOT!
That’s the first impression I had of this guy; a reckless speed junkie who gets an adrenalin rush from putting himself in harm’s way. Worse, he gets a rush from doing it to strangers, like those two unsuspecting girls he tricks into making them think they’re falling to their deaths. Yeah – ha! ha! – that always cracks ME up, the terrified feeling I’m about to die. Come on, that was sadistic and not the least bit funny. Anyone who pulls a cruel stunt like that gets no sympathy when he subsequently falls into danger, especially if it’s his own reckless actions that put him there. The producers had better create a new trailer which makes the Aron Ralston character more sympathetic; otherwise, the audience is going to be rooting for the rock, not him.
Why so angry?
agree completely
…erm, because once again Danny Boyle is asking us to hero-worship a moron…? And people who think that Danny Boyle is OMG A GENIUS will fall for it?
(Sorry: that was very nearly a bad pun.)
Anybody wanna make a movie about me having to be dynamited off my couch to go see this?
Can’t wait. Loved Aron Ralston’s book “Between a Rock and a Hard Place” and know that Danny Boyle will make at LEAST a good movie out of this, if not great.
great trailer
This is a great trailer — i don’t know if I wanna watch this though — it seems like an stylized version of SAW. I heard that by the end of the movie you will want him to cut it off — what does that mean…..
WOW. This looks incredible.
