John Hamburg, who co-wrote all 3 films in the Meet the Parents franchise, has signed a blind script deal with 20th Century Fox TV to develop a comedy series project targeted for the 2011-12 season. On the film side, Hamburg also wrote and directed I Love You, Man (co-penned with Larry Levin) and Along Came Polly. In TV, he previously created, executive produced and directed the short-lived CBS comedy series Welcome to the Captain and helmed 3 episodes for the cult Fox comedy Undeclared.

it pains me to say this… 20th comedy is the best in town.
the guy is a hack.
not funny– there’s a reason i love you man is/was shown on airplanes
What a dumb thing to say. All the best films are shown on airplanes!
A hack? That is funny.
Oh….and every movie is shown on airplanes. Fly much?
Standupcity, you had better sit down and STFU !!!
“I Love You, Man” is one of the best reviewed comedies of recent years — and it exemplifies decent comedic writing chops. It came out in 2009, and outshone certifiable yuk-fests (deep sarcasm here) such as “Old Dogs” and “Did You Hear About the Morgans?” and “Couples Retreat”
Sheesh, given the field, I am surprised “I Love You, Man” wasn’t nominated for an Oscar! Ok, slight hyperbole. Oh, but it did solid biz at the box office — to the tune of $71 million.
That’s why Hamburg’s movie is on airplanes (people LIKED it) as opposed to “Couples Retreat” or the “movie” you have sitting in the cue of your Apple Mac Pro !!!
Not funny? Pull your head out of your ass and go see SAFE MEN. Hamburg is awesome.
Citizen Kane was shown on airplanes. Are you saying that Citizen Kane was written by John Hamburg?
John is a great and unique comic voice. He’s also a very sweet person. Good luck to him always!
Hamburg a hack? Hahahahah. You my friend are an IDIOT. Hamburg is amazing. Now go back to editing your crappy short film.
