EXCLUSIVE: Frenchman Luc Besson has built Europacorp by hatching moderately priced thrillers, and populating them with casts, writers and directors he works with over and over. Maggie Grace, last seen as the kidnapped teenager in the Besson-Robert Mark Kamen collaboration Taken that launched director Pierre Morel’s star, has signed on for Lockout, a drama that Sony Pictures Entertainment is in talks to distribute. The picture transports a Taken-like premise to outer space. Besson hatched the script with directors James Mather and Stephen St. Leger. Guy Pearce
is attached to play a man wrongly convicted of conspiracy to commit espionage against the U.S. He’s offered his freedom if he can rescue the president’s daughter from an outer space prison taken over by violent inmates. Grace’s UTA agents just closed a deal for her to play the president’s daughter. Sony has a long relationship with Besson, distributing The Professional and The Fifth Element. Shooting starts September 7.
Grace is also attached to Taken 2 and she completed the Dwayne Johnson-starrer Faster for CBS Films and stars in The Experiment for Sony.

All I can say is SHE’S HOTTTTT!
She may be pretty but she needs lessons on how to not talk all the time with her jaw clenched. Watch the LOST pilot. It’s almost as if she has her jaw wired shut. Very distracting.
Sounds like something Griffin Mill would have been pitched in Altman’s “The Player.”
Sounds like a great opportunity…so why the long face?
Loved her on LOST! Good call, she’s a total movie star!
I was really impressed with Taken. In fact, I’d say it was one of the most underrated thrillers to come along in a while. This is the first I’ve heard of Taken 2- I hope it will be as good as the first!
Taken rocks! Although I think the sequel should be called Taken Again or Retaken or Take Two.
How about Taken 2 the Throat Chop
Heeya!
Maggie and Katie Cassidy were almost unrecognizable from their usual glam selves in “Taken”. They both played teenagers very well. Maggie especially right down to the way she ran to her parents in the end. I like her. She was bitchy on “Lost” but became sympathetic when we learned more about her. Sucks she died early in the show’s run.
I want to make babies with her.
Love her, but she was the worst thing about TAKEN… and it wasn’t her fault. She was cast as a 17 year old girl… was painful to say the least.
Lockout sounds a lot like Escape From New York.
Actually, in Escape From New York the President was being held hostage. In Escape From LA, it was Cliff Robertson as the quasi-President / dictator whose daughter was taken. I’m more interested in what Besson has lined up for himself to direct. Hopefully, he’s finished with all that Minimoys stuff.
So this is the go-to damsel in distress. She played damsel in distress on Lost, Taken and now Lockout. Always needing someone to save her. I`m surprised she didn`t win Bella Swann role with such a resume.
I still don’t get it (Taken’s popularity). I was totally distracted by so many things in this mediocre film: Neeson’s too tight face, Grace and Cassidy trying to play characters so much younger than their ages (definitely did not work for me), and all of the ridiculous lack of logic. My husband and I just kept laughing at the absurdity of it all–fortunately we were in our home, not the theatre.
But I do like Maggie Grace (just not Taken).
