Hot feature comedy writer-director Nick Stoller is returning to television with a big premium script deal at 20th Century Fox TV and studio-based Chernin Entertainment.

Stoller, a member of the Judd Apatow gang (he started off as a writer on Apatow’s Fox series Undeclared before segueing to features), will write a comedy project for 20th TV and Chernin Entertainment, which will be shopped to the networks in the coming weeks. (Stoller is expected to work on his TV idea after he fulfills his current feature film commitments.) He will executive produce alongside Chernin and Katherine Pope.

UTA-repped Stoller recently directed Forgetting Sarah Marshall and wrote and directed its spinoff Get Me To the Greek. His feature writing credits also include Yes Men and the upcoming Gulliver’s Travels and The Greatest Muppet Movie Ever Made. He is one of two major feature comedy writers 20th TV recently signed for development, along with Meet the Parents scribe John Hamburg.
