Haven’t seen one single review on this film, and it opens in two days.
Are the Weinsteins hiding it? If so, OUCH. It actually looks fun, but if the producers are keeping it from view, it can mean only one thing: it stinks.

Actually, it’s become pretty common practice to not let critics see horror movies early, especially gorey ones- there is a pretty blatant bias against them from most critics, and fans only trust word of mouth anyway, so why bother with the expense?

It’s not that common (I believe LEGION was the last one, 8 months ago, it tanked and WOM was lousy), and the films usually implode anyway.
Fans read those reviews, trust me. They don’t want to admit it as a point of internet-age pride, but they read them.
Weinsteins should’ve shown it to the press. Now there’s a stank all over the film that cutesy FOD irony won’t wash away.

That’s a review?
Seems like a few paragraphs based on scenes from the trailer and the Comic-Con footage.
Looks like somebody is cheating to be the first word on the picture.
Tsk-tsk.

Love it. Let’s face it, with ‘Avatar’ having three Oscars, there’s absolutely NOTHING that would make one for Piranha 3D repulsive in any way.

Jackadoodle – you are correct!! Avatar, something I wouldn’t even call a movie at and best the story was a lame. It was a theme ride. Would have been good for five minutes before going on a ride at Disney. If Avatar is a film worthy of Oscar Piranha 3D deserves serious consideration.
Thank you.

For the record- Cameron’s first film was a sequel to the ORIGINAL “Piranha”- and was slated to make a cameo in THIS film, until scheduling got in the way (he was supposed to appear with original “Piranha” director Joe Dante, who was busy).

anhonestanswer – I second your opinion. Avatar is a pretty movie but the story has been done a lot of times before and often times, a lot better!! I love how they’re milking Avatar money – the movie is going back to theaters with 8 (or is it 11) additional minutes! Wow. Then they’ll come out with the DVD and BluRay. PLUS it’s been said there’s going to be a 3D BluRay in 2011. Any takers?
As for Piranha 3D, I can’t wait to see it in theaters!! I hope it makes a lot of money so 3D movies can go back to where they belong… on cool horror movies!

In years past I’ve listed as one of my five Best Picture choices films like: “Larry the Cable Guy – Health Inspector” and “Soul Plane”. Now with ten spaces to fill, why not, I’ll give them some Oscar love and put them down as one of my picks — it’s either that or “The Other Guys”.

If we can get Betty White on SNL, we can do this.
Let’s make this happen, interwebs.

I actually think this movie might be a decent box office hit. It’s a good summer horror film.

Did anyone notice there was a longer and funnier version of this video on funny or die yesterday and then it was cut down and swapped out. Something tells me that piranhas in the film might be based on the weinsteins.

Yeah! I thought I went crazy… this one is okay, but the version I saw was a bit longer and a LOT funnier. What gives?

Maybe no one has seen it, because it is not done yet.

Brilliant viral movie marketing! I went from kinda wanting to see it to gonna check it out now.

Critics rarely if ever like horror-comedies like this one, especially one with rampant violence and loads of nudity so why bother showing it to critics? It is supposed to be lots of fun and looks like the best movie of what has been a terrible summer.

I actually was rooting for this film until i saw this stupid ass viral video… The actors trying to be cool cause they’re so hip they make internet content… so tired and boring… now I hope this thing fails miserably

I used to be a critic and I love horror comedies, but they have to be scary and they have to be funny. On purpose. “Tremors,” “The Gate,” “They Came From Within,” “The Howling” (Joe Dante rules), “American Werewolf in London” (so does Landis), and “Troll” off the top of my head. If “P3D” was as much fun to make as it is to sell, and it’s not smug, it could be a hoot. I hope it is because fish need work.

This is the dumbest campaign ever. It’s basically saying “Here is packaged crap. Everyone act ironic and see it the same way that all of you ate that crappy KFC Double Down”. Audiences want intelligent films… thus Inception doing well.
