EXCLUSIVE: In a competitive situation, a medical drama by Privileged creator Rina Mimoun has landed at CBS with a put pilot commitment.
The untitled project, from Warner Bros. TV where Mimoun is under an overall deal, centers on a mother who reconnects with her adult children when she joins the family medical practice.
In addition to creating and executive producing WBTV’s CW series Privileged, UTA-repped Mimoun also worked on studio’s hourlong series Everwood, on which she rose to showrunner, Gilmore Girls, Pushing Daisies and Eastwick.

this should be great. she’s an awesome writer and showrunner. Privileged was a great, funny, well written show. I think it could never get traction because of the silly Gossip Girl maybe overshadowing it. Way funnier and better. Everwood was also an awesome show that she ran from the second season on.
Really look forward to them shooting this pilot and getting picked up. Will be an interesting departure from her CW / WB days but I think it will hold up.
Best of luck!
Do we seriously need another medical drama?
YES!
Since the premise makes it sound like it’s a family drama ala Everwood and Providence that just happens to be set around a medical practice, heck, yeah, there’s (more than) enough room for that kind of a show on the schedule.

WHY is Rina lowering herself to a medical drama? She has worked on some amazing, original and heartwarming dramas such as Gilmore Girls and Privileged!
Another medical drama will be welcome because if it’s created by Mimoun it will be different and special… Just check out her other projects!!
One of the best and most refreshing writer on T.V. Her attention to details and her devotion to what she believes in is always reflected on her shows. Thatagirl.
Sounds somewhat like ‘Out of Practice’ – though that was a sitcom.
Another medical drama? How original!!!! Now, only if we could get another cop drama as well…
why do you hate what you have never seen
maybe you don’t eat your vegetables either
Does anyone know what happened to the John Wells medical drama pilot for CBS? Why didn’t that one get picked up? Heard Sissy Spacek was in that. I love her!
