UPDATED: Stephanie Jacobsen (Melrose Place) and Naoko Mori (Torchwood) have joined SyFy’s drama pilot Three Inches as a regulars. The project, from Fox TV Studios and Landscape Entertainment, centers on Walter (Noah Reid), a twentysomething underachiever who acquires a seemingly worthless superpower after getting struck by lightning: he can move any object three inches with his mind. He goes on to recruit a team of fellow heroes, each with their own less-than-spectacular abilities. Jacobsen, repped by APA and Global Creative, and Mori, repped by Michael Greene & Assoc., will play two of them, Watts, a beautiful “super” hero who has the ability to shape the emotions of anyone she meets at close range, and a woman who can duplicate and recite any sounds she hears, respectively.

This is a drama or a comedy?
Sounds completely underwhelming, but also cost-effective to produce. And potentially funny. I’d watch it.
Right because cost-effective is exactly what I look for when deciding what to watch.
Heroes you never heard of with powers you don’t care about. Seriously?
Because this worked REALLY well with “Mystery Men.” Anybody remember the guy who could (maybe) bend spoons and Ben Stiller as the angry guy? Me barely.
Here’s hoping this is one of those things I can short in the new Hollywood Futures market place…
The Blue Raja didn’t bend spoons, he threw spoons (and forks). But “Three Inches” still sounds lame. Anyone remember “Misfits of Science”?
seriously!? mystery men was single handedly the best super hero movie no ones ever heard of, and is one of the better super hero movies of all time. and he didn’t bend spoons, he threw forks with deadly accuracy.
SyFy, Imagine Greater… How about just imagining good programming instead? Maybe this flick will come with a generous helping of SyFy’s cheesy CGI – that always seems to make their horrible original movies just that much better… gag
This was the best pilot that I read all year. Can’t wait to see it.
Sounds great to me. I’ve always enjoyed James Marsters in anything, and Naoko Mori was fantastic in Torchwood. I’m for anything that isn’t another “gritty cop or medical drama” or a stupid reality show.
I think anything that stars James Marsters will be exceptional. He can do no wrong when it comes to his acting. He has this ability to draw people in with his wit and magnestism.
How can she be a regular when SyFy is now changing their tune, saying they’re reworking the pilot and it MAY find it’s way back to the network. I wish they had never announced it if they weren’t going to make good on their promises. I know if they don’t bring it to their network as an hour long series that a lot of James Marsters’ and Kyle Schmid’s fans will be really disappointed. And with their recent cancellations of Caprica and SGU can they really avoid to lose any more viewers than they already have?
