The long-running HBO comedy series Entourage will end its run on the network next summer with 6 episodes. Then showrunner Doug Ellin will consider turning it into a possible film featuring the existing cast. The announcement was made this afternoon at HBO’s TCA executive session by Michael Lombardo, the network’s president of programming. “Doug clearly wants to write a film but wants to do it if it makes sense for the story,” Lombardo said. “We have a long-term relationship with Doug Ellin, and I’m sure you’ll soon see another series from him here. But next summer will definitely be the final season of Entourage.”

My goodness Entourage stopped being good after the 2nd season
Indisputable Correction: “Entourage” stopped being as good as it was after the second season. It’s still pretty damn good. Better than 90 percent of what’s on TV.
Really? I hope to god you’re not in the business as you obviously know crap. With the exception of Ari, Entourage sucks. Ari is the only one who has grown in the series. The others are just stagnant bores.
Could not agree with you more. Which makes the statement, “Doug clearly wants to write a film but wants to do it if it makes sense for the story” even more funny since after season 2 not much has made sense to the story.
No doubt sauerkraut
I think it hung in there a little longer than that, but I am hating on this season. Apparently they forgot that characters should have a hint of likeability. 100% despicable is predictable and not very entertaining. Even my heroes Piven and Dillon can’t pull this one out of the fire.
Drama deserves his own show…
Can the rest of em’… Piven included.
That’s true. Piven and Dillon have always been the show’s saving grace, but the scripts are so incredibly bad this season there is nothing they can do. The one good thing about this show is that it made Jeremy Piven a star – he deserves it.
Shoot your self!!!! Its been riveting since Doug Ellin first typed Fade IN: Its Cable Tv at its finest and it will be missed. For someone that lives and breathes this industry the accuracy of the LA life style compelled me from day one.
Well its real simple anyone that likes to make money should make Entourage The Movie and im sure they will! well atleast im sold for two tickets a popcorn and soda while your at it throw in a bluray copy too@
This show has been bad for a while now. Honestly, folks. Just let it die. This season is as uninspired as it gets. Where are the television shows for MEN? Real men. Guys who… oh, I don’t know, like SPORTS?! Jesus, what’s happened to television?
I’m not sure if it stopped in season 2 but it spoiled a long time ago.
The final episode, titled “Six Years Overdue,” should feature Drama coming out that he is gay and desirous of a sex change in order to marry Turtle at Arnold Schwarzenegger’s house, and that Eric was a spy for the CIA all along. Ari gets beat up by Babs and dumped by his wife, and quietly leaves town to start his own megachurch. As for Vince, it is revealed that he is in fact a robot. The final scene…Doug Ellin does a cameo as a male stripper and, after jumping out of a cake, turns to the camera and whispers, “No mas…no mas.” FADE OUT.
Thank god. Should have ended it last season. Grenier is so bad he can’t even play bad.
Entourage jumped the shark this year. Have you seen this blast from the past? Funny. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LT6fPI_Ks3U
Yeah its time. Its getting a little stale.
I thought last season was great but, so far, I’ve been underwhelmed with the current season.
that sucks but it makes sense, i just hope they dont turn Vince into a addict.
Can’t wait to see Jack Black as “Turtle”
They jumped the shark when Vince burned himself up the first ep of the current season.
the only good thing about entourage is listening to people mock how lame it has become. Talk about beating a dead horse, an entourage movie would be the equivalent of watching the same dead horse be turned into glue.
isn’t there an all girl entourage spinoff or something in the works????? I hope, and I hope it isn’t some sissy shit.
Nah, they’ll never make an Entourage movie. They know the series is completely out of gas and it doesn’t resonate with a whole demographic the way SATC did. They’re just being nice to Doug and Co.
And Fonzie will be jumping a shark on water skis…
What story?
A movie? It’ll bomb.
Can you say “Brain Candy”? The show is cool to a few “Hollywooders” and the “pseudohip” wannabes but will America leave their homes to see a movie?
Doug should really consider spinning off Ari’s character.
It’s too bad – I think they really have run out of stories, I swear this season looks like the same thing over and over. How many times we can watch the same story regarding Vincent Chase? But Piven? STILL BRILLIANT and watchable.
And seriously six episodes? Why even bother HBO?
Never saw one episode of entourage but people in my hous love it. Hate reality TV and reality type shows. The premise just never interested me but I’m sure the movie will do well considering the following. Jersey Shore is the new Entourage and that puts it all in perspective very nicely.
Just let it die with hint of dignity.
No movie, please. It’ll kill any chance that these actors have to move on to other rolls.
Last week’s episode was one of the best ever.
only 6 episode …..what….i whant more…. go johnny drama go….
That’s nice of Doug Ellin to announce he’s considering turning it into a movie. Is this journalism or market research?
The Plot:
Ari has a series of long rants about something inconsequential.
Vince bonks a few chicks and waits for the next movie
E has women trouble
Drama has no job
Turtle has no life
The End
That sounds exactly right. Let’s hope they kill Turtle off in the finale.
lol- yeah, that pretty much sums it up, but it’s still fun to watch, because Scott Caen is pretty funny, and they’re bringing that crazy Director, Character, Billy Walsh back. However, I think Lloyd’s Character, should never be 5 feet away from Ari’s Character – they are like a neutron bomb for comedy, and will kill everytime. Am I the only one who thinks this?
