The long-running HBO comedy series Entourage will end its run on the network next summer with 6 episodes. Then showrunner Doug Ellin will consider turning it into a possible film featuring the existing cast. The announcement was made this afternoon at HBO’s TCA executive session by Michael Lombardo, the network’s president of programming. “Doug clearly wants to write a film but wants to do it if it makes sense for the story,” Lombardo said. “We have a long-term relationship with Doug Ellin, and I’m sure you’ll soon see another series from him here. But next summer will definitely be the final season of Entourage.”

Entourage is the worst show on television that people for some inexplicable reason still watch. I really can’t fathom why — it must be the lifestyle porn. It can’t be the storytelling or the acting or the writing. It’s all so amateurish. Its seeming insights into show business or show business personalities could be made by anyone who has a subscription to People. The most interesting thing you can ever say about this show is “look, they’re filming at The Ivy.”
Yawn. Doug Ellin is a hack. Go away.
Please no movie, I know it’s the only way these D list actors will get on the big screen but come on. This season and the past 3 have been so bad, is Vinny really having a drinking problem. How cliche’. I’ll give these losers 5 million each NOT to do a film. Kevin Connoly in a film, ha. Maybe he can get his boy toy Leo De Crapio to play Eric in the film version.
It’s not good to me now.
“Entourage” is a WB show now at best! now!
give Drama a solo show and call it a day
You mean season 7, right?
If the movie was all about Ari, Shauna, Mrs. Ari and a sprinkle of Lloyd and maybe a bit of Johnny Drama, I’d watch a big screen version. Jeremy Piven does an outstanding job with his character.
I have only watched this show because of the Los Angeles scenery. The show itself I have always felt really ignored the real hollywood that we hear about daily in the media. I was actually shocked tonight when they had Ari make a derogatory Lindsay Lohan reference. This show has always not wanted to be a good dark comedy about Hollywood so as not to offend anyone. Trying to make it the Three’s company of comedies about working in the movie biz is just stupid. While I believe the nudity is necessary, it could have been done without the T & A. Tonight’s episode was a perfect example. You see the porn star naked and Vince naked passed out on the edge of his pool as Eric and Ari try to wake him up. But the show totally ignores the rampant drug use and plastic surgery overuse, so what’s the point. I get the feeling this show is trying to whitewash hollywood. It also totally seems to make everyone straight and I think that is just not reality. I’ve always felt that the best comedies are based on facts and not on how not to offend anybody.
Gag. Go away, “Entourage”. You’re boring.
Nicole S…give me the 5 Million and I’ll make sure they DON’T do a movie
I actually thought this season was terrible until now…it does look like they’re building some semblance of story with Vince going off the rails just as E and Ari take their focus off of him.
I still watch but admit the luster is a bit duller than it had been in the first couple seasons.
Movie? Well, SATC proved it can either work OR NOT…equally well. Well, at least financially.

Would be a funny cross promo if the ari gold tapes were actually posted on deadline!!!
This is the first time I’m posting on this board b/c it involves one of the 3 shows I actually care enough about to DVR (Mad Men & Californication).
I was actually watching last night’s episode and it occurred to me why I still watch, and it’s the same reasons I hung by Sopranos when it started to suck…it’s like my TV comfort food and I somewhat relate to the characters (less so Sopranos obviously). Longevity in TV is so rare these days with bomb after bomb that it’s nice to tune in on Sundays and know what I’m going to get…
Ari with fantastic one liners…some of which we’d all love to say in real life.
Vince being completely carefree…i wouldn’t mind it. Porn stars & tequila anyone?
Drama being so distraught he doesn’t want to get off the couch…I’ve been there.
Turtle hustling so hard to be his own man, yet he can’t quite get there…used to be there.
E with the biggest Napoleon complex since, well, Napoleon…we all have a little Napoleon in us.
And we now have the return of Billy Walsh (!!), who is way less fun now that he’s reformed…blah.
So will I shed a tear when they shove off? Probably not – I certainly enjoyed the ride. Now I just have to pray to God nothing happens to Mad Men & Califorication!!
“if it’s best for the story”
there’s a story?
i agree that the show has been sinking since season 2 (if not earlier) but it’s funny to see how many people here comment on how shitty it is, yet have admittedly watched every episode of every season to this day. surely the movie won’t do as well as SATC but not only will all of you suckers go see it, it could also attract a new audience who’s never watched the show or had an easy access to it- i’m thinking foreign audience.
put the Ari Gold tapes on Deadline!!
One of the big problems with this show is that the characters aren’t evolving, their situations inside of the show are changing, but it is as if their characters are still stuck at 22 years old and the character of Ari isn’t any better, even though he is portrayed brilliantly. The characters from SATC grew as the show evolved, just like we all grow in real life, but these boys from Entourage are still as immature as the day we met them and Vinnie is the worst. Look at some of Hollywood’s leading men – Mark Wahlberg and Brad Pitt have all moved on from being boys. I used to love Entourage, but now I just can’t care less for them because the characters and the show for that fact are pretty much stagnant.
Based on 90% of the above comments, I’m convinced the majority of you haven’t actually watched the series beyond its first or second seasons. Yes, Grenier is still a d*ck, as he was in the first season and will forever continue to be (both on and off-screen). However, you can’t dispel the fact that characters such as E and Turtle have in fact, experienced a wealth of growth over the seasons. Both have become extremely independent (well, E more so than Turtle – but at least he’s trying). I honestly believe the only downfall this entire series was season 4 which was utter crap from week to week.
my wife and i still love Entourage – one of the only shows we both enjoy. Bring on the Entourage movie. Maybe Ari’s brother can be a famous politician?
And as long as HBO is turning shows into films, can you please make The Sopranos feature?
I have in fact watched every episode. I agree there isn’t much growth of the characters, but you expect that with creative types. If this show didn’t employ famous people portraying themselves, there wouldn’t be a show.
I can see about fifty or sixty haters who have no work, no love and no life!- The only think they have is there PC, they spend 99% of their time trolling in the internet.Enough of them.
I admit that the show is going downhill since the third season, but people it’s not too bad???? I don’t think, it’s a good idea to bring the old faces back to the show like Billy, Amanda, Dana etc.I want to see new faces like Scot Lavin (Scott Caan.I agree that its not Adrian Grenier’s best season i know that there’s not enough of Drama and Turtle but the show still rocks. But the worst thing that the writers could have done was to put so much new actors this new season this is the only thing that can make me stop paying HBO and stop watching it.
Entourage was always and will always be amazing. If you think it’s stale or poor it’s because of emotional issues or your very low intelligence and you should get help.
All I have to say is, what show is actually BETTER than Entourage in the last 7 years? Anyone that hates it, probably still watches it because it’s entertaining. Sure, they might be running low on stories, but most shows do that around season 4 or 5, nothing abnormal there. Give Entourage the credit it deserves.
BEST SHOW THAT THERE HAS EVER BEEN, IS CURRENTLY, AND EVER WILL BE…..that is known as fact by over 99% of the population worldwide. BEST EVER……EVERY SINGLE EPISODE…..BEST EVER
And I said that to be as ignorant as all the haters……but seriously, I, and others, will always remain a fan of entourage and continue to watch every episode. If you don’t like the show then why read this story and why be visiting this page in the first place……..
You are all crazy Entourage is about friendship and stays true till the end I’m ready for an Ari spinoff with appearances from the guys
Entourage is about friendship and they stAYED TRUE TILL THE END
