That’s according to investment bank Nomura, which has compared the average $780 yearly cost of being a Sky customer to what people spend on other things. The average British family also spends as much on Sky as it does on smokes and booze. No wonder that everything the Murdochs say or do is of such interest. I wonder if Sky customers think of their monthly pay-TV subscription as just another vice.

The entertainment biz is a multi-billion $ buisness serving billions of people around the world, Mr M owns just a very small piece of it. People who hate him make it sound like all he has to do is flip a switch and EVERYBODYS entertainment goes off if you don’t pay him $.
Sadly the same is true in America. Millions of rightwing halfwits tuning in to the Faux News channel, where lies and propaganda packaged in glitzy soundbites and served on a flag-colored plate masquerade as “news.”
People are confusing this for ‘Sky News’. When the article mentions Sky they are talking about the subscription TV service offered by the company, wherein you pay a fixed price per month to get a cable box and have access to about 500 channels, NOT simply paying to have a Sky News channel added to your TV. When people get Sky they may never even watch Sky News, I certainly don’t.
Mr. Adler seems to have quite the hard on for the murdochs in the last 2 weeks
