The usual painful narcissism (yes, we’re all following your beard…)but a better haircut. At least he didn’t mention that he’s Irish like that’s a laugh getter as though that’s supposed to make up for his shortcomings as an ad libber, or (scary – I’m wincing) do the fake humility thing, or play the guitar and badly sing a “funny” song that, in his mind, showcases his very limited performing versatility.
As parody of this show biz ticking bomb house of cards where’s SCTV when you need them? The pathos of this guy is off the charts. It must be like working for Sid Caesar and not in the good way.
He should do what he does best. Hire good writers.

Don’t you just love those mean-spirited, pseudo-intelligent personal attacks and vitriolic backhanded remarks from the anonymous internet elite? We’ve all seen it before. Those remarks that really get down to the DNA structure of why the person they hate is a failure in life.
This Bentley character really hates Conan’s immortal soul so he reads into his psyche and tries to really hit the soft spots, as though he knows the guy intimately and only he can eviscerate him properly.
Problem is….Conan could give a damn about you. He doesn’t know you exist.
i love the early conan years, but i think he’s become way too established and possibly arrogant.
He went into the Tonite show and pretty much didn’t change anything from his old show and expected immediate success. I tried watching Conan’s tonite show for a few months, but ended up tuning out.
From what I understand, he’s basically going to do more of the same on TBS.
Personally, I think he needs to get back to being the edgy comedian with nothing to lose. Cut loose a lot of the old sketches and give his show a long overdue makeover.
You Conan of the early years, but criticize him for not changing enough during the transition of Late Night to Tonight? …that was pretty painful.
I’ll be watching, happy that Conan will be back and wish him best of luck to stay on this time. I think he’s a misunderstood genius.
