She’ll join Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones and Josh Brolin in the Barry Sonnenfeld-directed film for Sony Pictures Entertainment. She’s negotiating. Principal photography begins in mid-November.

All Rip Torn did is try to rob a bank. Couldn’t they have just done what Sony’s done in the past and fire some underling and make him a Sr. Vice-President of Marketing?

I remember watching Emma Thompson (along with Stephen Fry, Hugh Laurie and even Robbie Coltrane) on the BBC comedy show ‘The Young Ones’ from 1982? you remember that one John? no idea do you? none. nada.
This is going to suck. I’m calling it now. No Rip Torn, and from what I’ve heard or read, TLJ is not in the movie very long.

OMG-what a genius piece of casting. She is always great and will be great in this role. Her sense of comedy will be a perfect match with Sonnenfeld’s unique style of camera work and direction. Wonder who had their legs up in the air and through that name out. So totally unexpected and out of the blue…must have been the feminine side of production. Haven’t heard much about the story line. Glad they are keeping close to the vest. With so much time between now and when the movie is released, I dont want to know boo about it before I sit in my seat with fresh popcorn.
