In the fallout of the Lone Star cancellation, Fox’s drama Human Target will move from Fridays to Wednesdays, taking over the slot originally given to Lie To Me. Lie to Me was to premiere on Nov. 10 and run in the Wednesday 8 PM slot, leading into an one-hour Hell’s Kitchen. But as the crime procedural was summoned yesterday to take over the Monday 9 PM period vacated by the cancelled Lone Star staring next week, Human Target will now take its place on Wednesdays. It will premiere Nov. 17. A two-hour Hell’s Kitchen will air on Nov. 10. Instead of launching Human Target‘s second season this past Friday as first planned, Fox held back, airing a Human Target rerun instead, followed by the season debut of The Good Guys. The network will now run House repeats in the Friday 8 PM hour.

And with this move, say goodbye to The Good Guys. It was already teetering, but the House Re-Runs will kill it. Not sure why FOX hasn’t fast-tracked the Jamie Foxx Sketch Show for Friday. Really bad job by them. Two shows will be dead before Halloween and no one seems to give a damn.
good news…Im all for more Mark Valley
love human target! so psyched that fox is giving it a chance.
I love it to think it’s as good as NCOs please don’t take it off the air I was so bummed when it wasn’t on on Wednesday and just found out it was in tonight am watching it right now awesome show I love all the characters helen
I just love the show lots of action and even more stunts that amaze me. I look forward to this show every week and am surprised to hear they cancelled it! It came as a shock when I saw it on here! But was glad to see FOX picked it up. Thank you FOX you are my hero now… Bob of Maine
Goodbye, Good Guys.
When does that cancellation figure to be made official?
This is good news for ‘Human Target’. It’s final episodes last season were rating low on the same slot but it’s much much better than the Friday death slot.
Great news for Human Target – such a great show.
And if Good Guys gets canceled, I’ll blame the network and the producers for being greedy and attempting to put this on in the fall. It’s a great summer show and that’s where it belonged.
The Good Guys has a cable budget (2.1 mil) and is an in-house show (FOX TV STUDIOS). It’s profitable for Fox — especially since they don’t spend a dime promoting it. A 1.2 rating probably means it gets 13 more summer episodes… but I’m not sure it can even get that.
HT was to air the premiere this Friday, 10/1 not last. Good news overall. Sorry for the poorly titled “Lone Star” – expecting a TV drama based on the John Sayles flick – but very good news for Human Target, the one show that doesn’t look like it’s off the rack.
@Teresa
HT was to premiere the last Friday, 09/24/10. I had it in my calendar for months. It was then moved to 10/01 and a rerun put in place of the original premiere. Between then and now it has been moved to 11/17.
I thought most people used DVRs these days, thus rendering moot which night it airs… guess not. Regardless, I don’t like the moving around. I get too anxious waiting for new episodes.
Teresa, how exactly was Lone Star based on the Sayles movie? The plots are completely different, and the characters are not connected in any way. As a matter of fact, the only things that they have in common are the name “Lone Star” and the fact they were set in Texas (hence the name).
The movie: When the skeleton of his murdered predecessor is found, Sheriff Sam Deeds unearths many other long-buried secrets in his Texas border town.
The tv show:One Man. Two Lives. The Perfect Con.
Hmmm..sounds like a show about con man living a double life married to two women is definitely based on a movie about a murder mystery about a small town sheriff on the border.
I’m glad some programming guru came to his senses in time.
It was a stupid ass idea to air the show against Smallville in the first place.
Two DC properties airing against each other – that’s not good. It’s not like there’s a glut of comic book properties airing on television.
However, Fridays at 9 would be a dream slot.

Please keep human target!!
Love Human Target and the Good Guys. I will watch both no matter what night you put them on.
I concur! I’ve been waiting for Human Target to return and am relieved to see that it hasn’t been cancelled. And The Good Guys is a total hoot! The back and forth actually works with this show – The Event lost me as a potential viewer after their second time shift. KEEP THE GOOD GUYS!!
Please, please keep Human Target. If Human Target were put into a decent time slot, it would have a great chance. My husband & I love the show, as do others. No need to keep putting it where it doesn’t stand a chance. C’mon Fox.
Thank you for keeping Human Target. I’ve been a fan since the beginning and I can’t wait for Nov!
I was very disappointed when Human Target did not show up on the schedule. It is one of the best shows and deserves to be on. Thank you.
Human Target put some extremely nice-to-view actors into a series that makes the viewer sit up and pay attention (no running in to grab a snack while it’s showing !) The plots are different each week, and it runs a lot deeper than ~ANY~ of those replacement series that keep getting put into prime time TV.
Can the network give any good reason for cancellation of HT besides “gee, we put it in a bad time slot where nothing else has succeeded, and sure enough…no body seemed to care about it”. DUH !
Who ~do~ the networks listen to ???
KEEP HUMAN TARGET GOING !!! It’s GREAT !!!
cant wait for season 2! dvr doesn’t care what night you play it on. JUST DON’T CANCEL IT!
i’m with you Barbara G, my brother and i LOVE Human Target, we’ve been hooked since episode one, heck we’ve been hooked since we saw the first ad for it!!! please fox keep human target!!!!!
We love Human Target and could not for its return. Sorry to say it lost its appeal with the addition of Mrs. Pucci and the girl friend. Hopefully they will go to Europe for an extended stay.
Thought Human Target was the most original – perfect – show on TV in years. EXCELLENT – EXCELLENT show. Then someone decided to change it and add 2 new characters and totally change Geurrero’s edgy character & minimalize his lines and the other 2 main characters, etc.. Those three guys had it covered. It was perfection rarely seen on TV. The whole show is different now & not in a good way. Sometimes you “can” begin with a perfect show that does not need unneccessary tweaking – you just have to have the awareness and confidence you got it right right out of the gate. Hope it isn’t the beginning of the end. It was a perfect show before… now it’s not a perfect show – it’s a common show.
The Good Guys is the funniest show on TV. We look forward to every Friday night to laugh our asses off. I can’t think of another show on TV that makes us laugh so hard (for that matter the other comedies on TV now are not even close to being this ridiculously, hysterically, funny). This show is laugh outloud hilarious. I hope that Matt Nix & Bradley Whitford and all involved will go to USA or any other smart network with this very funny, funny, show & keep Good Guys on the air. One season is not enough time to gain the audience numbers. Many other great shows did not have great numbers the first year. Have faith – the fans love this show and will watch it on another channel. People are not network fans, people are fans of good, funny shows – no matter what channel they’re on. Comedy is the most difficult to write & perform. There’s far too little great comedy out there. We need to laugh – it’s good for our souls. Good Guys is the best comedy out there by a long shot!!! Keep Dan & Jack on the air… we need to laugh & the Good Guys gives us what we need.
I record most everything, don’t we all these days?, so the time slot matters not. I LOVE Human Target and have not missed it from day one. Same with The Good Guys. What a hoot they are! I watch any of their reruns, too, and if it’s a choice between recording another show or one of the above two, i’ll record their reruns and watch them again. I have to agree that the original HT was better, but if tweaking it pleases them enough to leave it on the air, have at it. I want to see that show stay on the lineup for years! please!
Keep human target its for an audience with a brain cell, not like american idol, dancing with stars or any other of the crap thats on these days! But Fox is really good at cancelling anything good! remember firefly!, family Guy, and tru callings? Fox has some of the greatest idiot minds working on their staff! try and show some loyalty fox, give it one more season, and see what comes of it!
Keep Human Target and the Good guys going. Human Target is exciting all the way and The good Guys are a hoot
