DreamWorks has released a teaser based on I Am Number Four, the DJ Caruso-directed adaptation of the novel co-written by James Frey that’s the first of a franchise. Alex Pettyfer plays the title character, an alien trying to assimilate as a human, but targeted for death by the baddies that destroyed his planet. Tim Olyphant’s also in the cast. Pic will be released February 18.

Both were successful to some degree at the box office. They had moments but the endings sucked.
Don’t know why they’re not selling his name with this. But this is just a “teaser” trailer so I’m sure more is come as the release date draws near.
Use your iphone (or other) app “QR Reader” (you can download it for free @ the App Store) to scan the weird code at the end of the trailer…it’s the QR Code…it will take you to another trailer…very cool use of this new technology.
I don’t understand why a marketer would use a QR code. If you have to explain what it is and how to use it … it’s bad.

Reminds me of PUSH combined with PERCY JACKSON and isn’t that the same weekend it was released too or around? Would’ve looked better if it wasn’t for the black cuts every 2 seconds.

Wow — I’m getting SO tired of trailers that give us genre and a few snippets from some CGI action set-pieces, but tell us nothing about STORY! Who is this character? Where is he from? WHO IS HUNTING HIM? Why?? What are the stakes? THESE ARE THE REASONS WE GO TO THE MOVIES!!!
I swear, this is a TWO MINUTE trailer that addresses virtually NO story or character questions.
Really unbelievable that the marketing people at DreamWorks think this is enough to get people into theaters…
