Former House co-star Jennifer Morrison has signed on for a major recurring role on the upcoming sixth season of the CBS comedy How I Met Your Mother. The role, a new love interest for lead Josh Radnor’s Ted Mosby, is described as a rabble-rousing activist who may or may not end up being the proverbial mother of Ted’s 2 children. Morrison landed the role shortly after reading with Radnor yesterday. In her comedy series debut, Morrison, who starts on the 20th TV-produced HIMYM on Monday, will appear in at least 5 and as many as 10-13 episodes.
Since she left House last year, Morrison, repped by UTA and John Carrabino, did a Broadway play, filmed the upcoming Lionsgate movie Warrior and shot an episode of NBC’s upcoming drama series Chase.

Never figured out why the HOUSE folks dumped her. She’s a damned good actress and deserved better — Looks like she’s going to get it!
Agreed. HOUSE isn’t the same without her and Olivia Wilde just doesn’t have the chops.
Well, I’m not sure that’s fair to Wilde, and the characters are so different, but yeah, I don’t think I’ll ever understand why the dumped Morrison. I still like the show, but I miss the old dynamic of the original ducklings.
Can we stop pretending that anyone cares about How I Met Your Mother? Its a middling sitcom.
It’s the best sitcom on tv, wtf are you talking about?
The House creative team was so worried about the show becoming stale they shook up the original formula too soon. The “New Coke” team of players never had the same vibe as the original team. (Although they had an interesting character in Amber but killed her off too soon; Olivia Wilde is pretty but boring.)
The show treated Jennifer Morrison in a pretty shabby fashion by marginalizing her, then shoving her out the door. She’s an enormously likable actress – here’s hoping she thrives over at HIMYM.
Did you see J-MO in her lead role in the movie Flourish. She’s incredible.
Love the House but your right. It’s not the same without the original cast. Will miss Cameron. Glad to see I can still watch her though…Good luck Jen!
iam with lala, Jennifer Desserves Better and she will get it
and the house people make a mistake when they let her go a way
Morrison’s character was becoming redundant as she also marginalized herself by wanting out of the show. Her departure was more her than the executive producers. Her on/off again relationship with House and her whiny/needy character is what killed her off. The show is/has evolving/evolved and it was time for her to go. New faces means different characters with different issues. Yes Amber would have been a good match for House not Wilson.
