Voltage Pictures chief Nicolas Chartier, trying to create some noise to follow The Hurt Locker, has announced a September 9 start date for Generation Um. The film, which stars Keanu Reeves, Bojana Novakovic and Adelaide Clemens, has been announced on the eve of the Toronto International Film Festival, where Chartier will undoubtedly try to tempt the distribution crowd. Written and directed by Mark L. Mann, the film tracks a day in the life of John (Reeves) and two beautiful companions as they immerse themselves in sex, drugs and indecision. Chartier also has the Rachel Weisz-starrer The Whistleblower at the festival. One of Chartier’s other projects, the Sheldon Turner-directed drama By Virtue Fall, might be in for a change of the original intended cast of Colin Farrell and Eric Bana. Farrell fell out, and talks have been ongoing with Chartier’s Hurt Locker star Jeremy Renner. Renner’s commitment to starring alongside Tom Cruise in the next Mission: Impossible has complicated matters.

Any trailers yet for “Generation Um”?
And looks like Renner’s dance card is filling up. “The Town” is set for a Sept 17 release.
Maybe he can sue people for reading this and eventually watching the trailer.
Everyone I know is rooting against Chartier after those emails he sent insulting the recipient’s family. I think he’s done in this town.
If you have money to finance movies you’re never done in this town.
And there are many, many people who think the Academy was overly harsh with Chartier.
As for me, if he wants to make movies of quality, then I’m rooting for him, period.
For those of you who try and kick him after the oscars. Nic is a tough SOB. Smart and knows how to sell great genre faire. For the previous emailer to say he is done. Son you were never in the game and Nicolas makes movies. The only thing you have ever made is the shit you took this morning. Make an academy award winning best picture then you can talk. No better yet make something out of your pathetic life and stop posting emailes about the downfall of someone who is still on top. Sorry for the rant readers. Stupidity pisses me off.
I hear you on that!
HERE HERE, John! The saying is as true then as it is today, “There is no such thing as bad publicity”.
Were the Mayans correct?
two aussie girls – nice!
I am utterly in love with Keanu and his special giftts and talents of acting he has left a lasting impression which motivates me to keep making contact with people I dont know, which allows my hope to live on, my goal to meet him will get out there and reach him. Even the quotes that were not too positive from him did not stop me from caring the way I do. I was an outdoors person and did not care for movies rather be outside with nature but I make an exception for Keanu.
Like, I a sure he is good working with French people. I wish he would simply complete a project and get it out there. Why is he taking so damn long????
