EXCLUSIVE: Former Universal co-chairman David Linde is aboard as executive producer. Rachel Weisz will reunite with her Constant Gardener director Fernando Meirelles on the psychosexual drama 360 that Peter Morgan has written. The drama is being produced by Austrian producer Dor Film and co-financed by BBC Films and its Austrian TV counterpart ORF Fernsehfilm. 360 is inspired by Arthur Schnitzler’s play Reigen. Schnitzler’s Vienna-set fin-de-siècle drama has been filmed many times, including Max Ophuls’ 1950 film La Ronde. Reigen consists of short scenes between couples, shown before or after a sexual liaison. After each scene, one character from the pairing is then shown with another partner, who is then shown with another partner, and so on. Finally, the promiscuity comes full circle.

Arthur Schnitzler’s work is always compelling, and I’m looking forward to seeing what Meirelles does with this.
Wow. Do we really need to go to the movies to see that? Who among us hasn’t had a go at the friend of a friend of a friend of a friends friend.
Love Rachel Weisz, hands down one of the best actresses of our generation. This film sounds very good.
Eyes Wide Shut was based on another Schnitzler work, Tramnovelle/Dream Story, not Reigen.
Weisz + Sex Drama = Yes, please! Loved her turn as a femme fatale in Winterbottom’s psychosexual, Kieslowski-inspired “I WANT YOU.” Too bad Polygram went down the drain before giving it a decent release. I think it was only available in the U.S. on rental VHS?!
And what’s with Peter Morgan? Does he write scripts two or three at a time or does he alternate by day of the week?
Eyes Wide Shut had nothing to do with Reigen, and its plot in no way resembles La Ronde. It was based on the novella “Traumnovelle”, published in 1926. Kubrick would never be so tasteless as to try and improve on an acknowledged masterpiece, but I guess Meirelles and Weisz share no such trepidation.
Trepidation over what? I doubt both Meirelles and Weisz are trying to improve on anything other than give their own interpretation on the story.
Get a grip.
I can confirm filming has begun here in the UK. They just did a shoot near regents park London
