Not funny AND dead.
i’d love to know who actually thought this was funny. besides mamet.
That is miserably bad. I can’t believe it was made by professionals.
How do you vote for Die? Because that certainly wasn’t funny.
neither original nor particularly funny… other than the paint can in his face
I love Devito but this is terribly unfunny.
I choose ‘Die’
I bet that most “FunnyOrDie” viewers won’t get the spoof until the credits roll.
This video is lame. It is poorly conceived and executed. It’s about as clever as some of the skits I wrote in sixth grade. It only reinforces my belief that the well has run dry for Mamet and he has way too much time on his hands. It’s not funny. What’s the point?
I have as much or more contempt for the preciousness about the art of acting on display in the actor’s studio interviews. The show is an easy target. But once again Mamet betrays his supreme arrogance and fervent conviction that the writer is God and the actor merely a puppet. You will find this sentiment on display in the self-aggrandizing tripe he doles out from his high horse in his book “True and False…” which is his unsolicited advice to actors. Thank you David! I don’t know how I’ve survived as an actor in the business for twenty years without your searing wisdom and insights!
Mamet? I could have written that in five minutes. Ten, if I actually wanted it to be funny.
By the way, State & Main is amazingly well-written and overlooked comedy.
Not at all funny… At all… And I know funny. I’m a Di Bona.
I assume David Mamet has not seen “Weird Al” Yankovic’s film masterpiece “UHF.”
Wow. That was really, really bad.
Amateur crap on Youtube trounces this.
Ah, good old Martin Jarvis, nice to see him here.
It’s not supposed to be funny.. it’s an attack on the sad state of affairs the Studios are in with their remake or reboot mania.
Yes, that is why it’s in FUNNY OR DIE.
It’s on Funny or Die because it has a well known actor in it, and they need all the traffic help they can get.
Die is not bad enough. How about drop dead?
Guess what? David did it and you people didn’t. He wrote it and directed it. That makes him a writer/director. You watched it and hated it. What does that make you…?
I don’t know what it makes everyone else, but it makes me a writer/director/producer that has seen and done better than this turkey.
Mamet has two other shorts on Funny Or Die — why are you only showcasing this one, Nikki?
That was shockingly….not funny in the least.
