Great news for Big Bang fans: injured star Kaley Cuoco is expected to return to work in time for the taping on Oct. 13, which means that she will only miss 2 episodes – the one whose taping was right after her horse-riding accident and the one that is currently in production, following the show’s 2-week hiatus. It hasn’t been decided yet if Cuoco’s broken leg will be incorporated into the show.
Meanwhile, there is more romance in store for Jim Parsons’ Sheldon. Mayim Bialik, who guest starred as the nerdy Amy in Big Bang‘s last season’s finale and this season’s premiere, has been booked for additional episodes and is expected to recur this season, the series’ fourth.
TV Editor Nellie Andreeva - tip her here.

Mayim is now a series regular
No she is not.
Finally a cure for my priapism!
I’m worried that the focus on Sheldon will be the downfall of the show. They need to work on the other chars more and give them storylines, too, as they did in season 1, which made us fall in love with TBBT. The Sheldon Show starts to wear thin.
Totally agree with A. M. Plus, Jim Parsons is starting to look more and more like a wax figure. The true talent on that show is Johnny Galecki. He’s a better actor all-around.
Somebody shoot her agent. What a dumbass. Horse riding while you are shooting what is most likely your only series, and the peak of your career. Are you kidding me?
Mark .. Actresses have a life outside the tv. It was a freak accident which I am sure she has learned the hard way. Shoot her agent? Come on. Did you even think before you posted.
Kaley is carrying this series. Jim owes his emmy to her proximity to him and he knows it. Only series/peak of her career? Are you kidding me? Kaley doesnt need TBBT. TBBT needs her! It was proven in the first pilot that The Sheldon Show couldnt hold its own until Kaley completed the trio. Who do you think the show is about? nock nock nock, Penny. Kaley lights up any set she stands on. The current ratings achieved are based on the shows with Penny. The last two episodes have lacked that special magic. The only explanation for your little tirade is that you miss Penny as much as the rest of us do.
Poor thing with the broken leg! Someone sing soft kitty to her!
Soft Penny, Bruised Penny, Little blonde of fur…. Pouty Penny, Gimpy Penny, Grrr Grrr Grrr…..
The best one in the cast is Parson’s hands down, his scripts must be the size of a phonebook and to rattle off that diologue at that rate of speed is mind boggling. He deserved that Emmy and he got it, he is the show.
The episodes without Penny prove how important Kaley Cuoco’s comic talents are integral to the chemistry. Without her, the characters seem unreal and forced. With her, they are hilariously eccentric. Her sweet, warm, honest perspective gives the audience an anchor of reality from which to view the behavior of the others.
