EXCLUSIVE: They’re about to work together in Lynn Shelton’s new semi-improvised and as-yet-untitled project. Production starts later this month in Seattle. Steven Schardt, co-producer on Shelton’s bromantic comedy Humpday, will produce. The whole movie’s only taking a couple of weeks to shoot, which is how Rachel Weisz can squeeze it in after spending one week on Terrence Malick’s untitled new film, and before Terence Davies starts shooting The Deep Blue Sea in November. Blimey, Weisz must be the busiest actress working in Britain. She’s repped by Independent in London and CAA in the US. Not that Blunt’s any slouch. She recently signed to headline Rian Johnson’s Looper, opposite Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Bruce Willis. In March 2011 she’ll star opposite Matt Damon in sci-fi mystery The Adjustment Bureau opposite Matt Damon. Blunt is repped by CAA in the U.S. and Ken McReddie Associates in London. Shelton, meanwhile, recently directed an episode of Mad Men, and has signed on with Focus Features to direct Then We Came To The End, an adaptation of the Joshua Ferris novel to be produced by Ted Hope and Anne Carey’s This Is That. It’s the story of copy writers at a Chicago ad agency when the dot com bubble bursts in 2001. Shelton is repped by UTA and Industry Entertainment.

Emily Blunt and Rachel Weisz are stunningly beautiful. These incredibly gorgeous women are pure English perfection.
Perfect, perfect casting. Both are great actresses, especially Rachel Weisz, who is probably the best actress we have working now.
Sexy pair of sisters.
I agree about the impeccable casting. Rachel Weisz is talented , but she can’t come close to touching the brilliant comedic chops of Emily Blunt. I mean, Blunt hijacked scenes in Devil Wears Prada from the mighty Meryl Streep. It is still a travesty Emily didn’t win an Oscar nomination for that incredible performance. Blunt simply owned DWP. I can’t wait for Emily to win her first Oscar. Something else, I have not seen an actress do so much acting with her eyes since Betty Davis.
Excuse me but what drugs are you taking? Emily Blunt is very talented but she’s no Rachel Weisz.
Emily Blunt IS queen. Rachel Weisz is fortunate to play sister to anything Emily. Divine for certain. Rachel has slipped and fallen into the lip-plumping school of acting. Hope she nips it in the bud. Really no need to go THAT avenue.
Very strong combination of talent. both in front of and behind the camera. This could be a winner.
What a perfect combination of gorgeous and talented director and gorgeous and talented cast!
Thank you, Jesus!
To quote George Costanza, “I felt it move.”
Finally My dream has come true my two favorite actress in one movie. YAY!
I can’t wait for THE WHISTLEBLOWER! I’ve heard from so many people at Toronto that Rachel’s performance is something to be seen. She has such courage in her choices. I agree she might be the best actress working today.
Oh wow, just put “Emily Blunt” and “Rachel Weisz” and “sisters” and suddenly the floodgates are opened for the “beautiful” and “gorgeous” and erection comments. Don’t get how the idea of two women being sisters has become so hyper-sexualized. Being sisters is not an inherently sexy relationship. For you guys, it doesn’t mean double the pleasure, or two is better than one. Think the scenario through and it’s only sexy if you think incest is sexy.
There are THREE talented women involved in this project, I look forward to the results, and really don’t care if anyone gets naked or not.
I also pray to God that this isn’t one of those stupid “27 dresses”-like film. I hope it’s like the movie “Andre” (old movie but very uplifting)!
“27 Dresses”-like film with songs from Beyonce, Usher, and all of those dickheads.
Uplifting music will be fine, please.
Both ladies are excellent actresses and very classy vs. the tramps that run around Hollywood.
Emily did a fantastic job in the recent movie: The Young Victoria! I absolutely enjoyed Rachel in the Mummy and was disappointed that she wasn’t casted in the 3rd movie.
You don’t know good acting if it bit you on the face. Emily is not even on the same planet as Rachel in terms of acting.
