EXCLUSIVE: Eric McCormack is eyeing a return to TNT as the star of the network’s pilot Perception. The Will & Grace alum is in negotiation to play the lead in the project, Dr. Geoffrey Pierce, an eccentric, frequently erratic and absolutely brilliant neuroscientist who helps the FBI solve complex cases. Kenneth Biller and Mike Sussman co-wrote the pilot, which is produced by ABC Studios. At TNT, McCormack previously toplined ad agency drama Trust Me. He recently played the title character in the Lifetime movie Who Is Clark Rockefeller?, recurred on the CBS comedy The New Adventures of Old Christine and starred in the Artsclub Theatre production of Glengarry Glen Ross in Vancouver. Perception is one of 4 pilots recently greenlighted by TNT – along with Hollywood & Vine, Dallas, and an untitled project from Allan Loeb – and the first one to cast its lead.

New ‘Man Of Steel’ Television Spot #6

How many crime shows can America watch?
Another medical/criminal procedural with an eccentric lead from TNT? Shut Up!! How very very unpredictable. I just love me some new ideas
“Dr. Geoffrey Pierce, an eccentric, frequently erratic and absolutely brilliant neuroscientist who helps the FBI solve complex cases.”
Rufus Sewell not available?
I guess if you can’t revive Eleventh Hour, it’s kind of appropriate to clone it
McCormack was the most underrated of the “Will & Grace” ensemble cast. I really like his acting.
It’s a shock to see reruns of that show every day and then see Mullaly and Hayes looking dramatically older than what I am used to seeing them. Time flies.
But McCormack and Messing both look great in the EW Reunion issue. Glad he has able to successfully continue his career post “W&G”.
Awesome! A new TNT show Zzzzzz about some brilliant neurotic character Zzzzzz who helps the FBI/CIA/NYPD fight crime Zzzzzz starring a former sitcom star ZzZzzzzzz
McCormack is a tv star–great get for TNT (again)–hopefully this is the right role-this go around.
Who the fuck gives the greenlight to these lame ass ideas???
Alan Loeb…hack…flavor of the month/year/years… how does his success continue?
This is soooooooooo derivative. Painfully so. Brett Weitz and the rest of those clowns at TNT sure are easily impressed.
House meets Numb3rs? Who’s getting cast as the brunette colleague he has an on and off romance with? (Yawn…)
So tired of this guy’s over estimation of his acting ability and more importantly that an audience even cares about him. And if there is strong talent there we know for a fact his so called agent/ manager won’t even look at possibly good, solid projects for him unless there’s money on the table! How sad! another stupid actor..who doesn’t take charge of his career and needs his ass kissed by his representation.well there’s always Lifetime
Where’s the show about the talking dog that helps the LAPD solve crimes by communicating with the dead through farts? I’m pretty sure that had a greenlight over there too.
DDDD — you’re my hero.
Eric McCormack – 2010 Canada Walk of Fame inductee, multi-talented, award winning actor. I am so thrilled. As a Will and Grace supporter and ally of the cast and crew, I hope this project goes well for him.
btw the Reunion pictures look great and Sean and Megan look great too. All have kept their fabulous great looks and time has been good to all of them.
You go Eric!
How has Ken Biller not gotten a karmic enema by now?
