No surprise here – Sons of Anarchy has become FX’s new flagship series and its highest-rated ever. The cable network has picked up the biker drama from creator Kurt Sutter for a fourth season with a 13-episode order. The series’ third season finale airs Nov. 30. Here is more from FX’s announcement:
In 2010, Sons of Anarchy ranks as basic cable’s number one scripted series in delivery of Adults 18-49. On a weekly, multi-telecast basis, Sons of Anarchy delivers 8.6 million Total Viewers and 5.9 million Adults 18-49. On a first-run, primary telecast basis, Sons averages 4.9 million Total Viewers and 3.4 million Adults 18-49. It is the highest rated series ever for FX.
“Sons of Anarchy is the most popular show FX has ever had, and the #1 series in basic cable for our key demographic. It is also one of the best, most original series on television,” said FX president John Landgraf.
Sons of Anarchy was created by Kurt Sutter who also serves as Executive Producer along with John and Art Linson. The series is produced by FX Productions and Fox 21.

Don’t fear, the season 3 episodes are already popping up on the official SOA site, we’ll just be viewing them 30 days after they originally aired. A month late is still better than not at all.
Can’t agree with you there. I can’t wait a month, so I’m paying the cancellation fee to get those lying bastards at Dish out of my life.
I myself as well as many others who not have to suffer because of having dish network. So even though (for my contract)it`s $17.50 for each month left on my contract AND will be close to $300 to get out of it I will have the freedom to watch past episodes that I didn`t record or missed on Comcast will be well worth it to me!! Even if I went with a basic cable package (less than $40 a mo)I would “STILL” get to watch SOA whenever I want. It is an unfortunate circumstance for Dish Network subscribers me being one of them. Oh well we must move on.

This was the best new show but towards the end of season 2 & the start of season 3 it’s just not the same. I’m still watching, just not sure for how much longer…

From the descriptions and promos, I never thought I’d like the show. I’m glad I was wrong. It is seriously one of the best long-arc shows on television right now.

Jax will get his kid back, but in a way that furthers the split between himself and Clay. A recent episode foreshadowed “things he might learn in Belfast” with respect to his father JT.
I can’t watch it any more. It’s SO repetitive. There’s nowhere for the show to go now, not because it can’t possibly go anywhere but because the writers have no imagination and they just keep repeating the same scenes over and over and hope all the ‘tude will compensate.
Plus I laugh at these criminals riding around basically in costume. Just so you don’t know they’re a biker gang from their black leather vests, they’ve gone ahead and had them embroidered for you with the name of their gang, the wearer’s name and his position in the secretive, illegal hierarchy.
Used to watch, not any more. Sorry, Kurt. Please don’t beat me up, you completely authentic Harley bad-ass you.

Really? The bike CLUBS all have their club names, states, and what rank they hold as an officer. What’s repetitive? So much has happened thru the series. You obviously have know knowledge of this background, it’s a different world…I’d like to see you comment on their “costumes” to someone wearing cut!

Actually being Irish – most of them are pretty good. And this season has been exceptional so great news.
Margaret are you serious? The “Oirish” accents are terrible. For some reason SOA can’t seem to get decent voice coaches or actors to portray the accents credibily.
I wonder why they did not get native speakers?
This has really put me off watching Season 3.

The Irish Accents are absolutely awful. I am from the South and know loads of people from Belfast and other parts of the North and none – NONE – of them talk like that.
That Jimmy “O’Phelan”. . . I know plenty of Phelans but nobody called O’Phelan, might as well call him O’Murphy. He has to be the worst I have ever heard, up there with Tom Cruise in Far & Away. You have the lead character, an Englishman playing an American. . . would it really have been a stretch to pick up a few genuine Irish actors on the way back to play the RIRA.
I enjoyed much of season 1, then the whole accent thing annoyed me a bit in season 2, it was at the forefront of Season 3 so just had to stop watching.
Sons of Anarchy reminds me more of the Sopranos on motorcycles, but with much better story, excitement, unintended humor, and heartfelt drama. A complete and original television series. How could you not love a show this cool with a character named Chibs! I keep calling my friends (and dogs) by that name. And it has Ron Perlman the Beast? Holy S@@@! He is one of the best actors! And Katy Sagal is just terrific!
Love this show! Proves once again that ALL the best reasons to watch TV, decidedly, is on cable.

Half sack was killed off due to the actor not wanting to come back, not that they had to kill him off.
As for Season 3 the first couple episodes were a bit on the “lame”, didnt like the direction they were headed, but understandable getting missing back stories in there. I sorta felt the same way towards the end of Season 2. I do however like where they are taking it with Belfast charter, but the prospects “SUCK!”
Was sad to see what happened to Hale though!
I love sons of anarchy and am very happy they are going to do season 4..l now for all you morons out there knocking the show i am in a motorcycle club and let me tell you they are 100% spot on. and i really dont care about there irish accents they sound irish to me if you are going to put the show down for that you should go **** yourself.. Let me ask you how many biker shows are on tv other than soa??? there are 0 !!!!!!!! if i lose this show because of you morons me and my club will be paying you a visit… We watch the show every tuesday night in our clubhouse AKA HELLHOUSE…. O ya fx if you shut this show down you will have a ton of pissed off bikers on your hands!!

I must agree… Let Hale’s brother get his spot as mayor and show the Son’s wrecking his plan… and as an Irishman, show Chips (The Scottsman) ripping the irish apart. Bring some REAL HELLS ANGEL’s attitude to the game… Do we not remember the angels VS the banditos?
Love this show, look forward to SOA every week. I was sad that they killed off Half Sac. But Kenny Johnson is a great addition; whats up with the week prospect’s this season?

If you want to make a realistic show make it realistic it’s gotten so corny especially that you have a son kidnapped the dad is sleeping with the porn girl and at an Irish party play fighting while his son is missing I love the show but that is getting too corny now. A dad with a missing son would not be doing that so it’s taking away from the realistic part.
All I have to say is…its not just about the motorcycles; its a way of life. If I have to explain; you don’t get it;)
this show is by far the best series on cable TV. Why has it not been nominated for an emmy. Katy Segal is awesome and Charlie Hunnan and Ron Perlman are great. This shows deserves some great reconition and the entire cast are doing a great job. Thank You FX for season 4!!!
