Since Barack Obama has been in office, Hollywood celebs keep getting his ear for their pet causes.
CNN is reporting that George Clooney paid a visit to the White House on Tuesday and met with President Obama in the Oval Office and discussed his recent trip to southern Sudan. Clooney said, “I think we’re very impressed with how involved, at the highest level, this administration is. And now our job is to try and continue to keep it in the press and … to keep the light turned on for the next 90 days while we try and broker a peace deal, which is what they’re working on right now.

How the hell can you reduce an ongoing genocide to some actor’s “pet cause?”
It’s so much about pets as it is saving a human life.
I got George’s email and sent it to the prez.
We as writers and journalists sometimes must be neutral. No political affiliations etc etc.
But stars have been promoting their causes since film began.
Some patriotic reasons some humanitarian causes.
George C is doing both. We don’t need another front for the enemies of America and the world. So I think it’s a good thing he has O’s ear.
Now if he can convince the prez to put America back to work he will be the greatest one man lobby ever created.
Peace, freedom and food.
The more busy-work George has instead of making shitty movies, and the more often Obama can be distracted from further ruining the country, the better. Continue to play grab-ass, boys.
What she said!
Before I saw Attack on Darfur at NYIFF, I didn’t really know much about what was going on in Sudan. It really opened my eyes to the everyday tragedies these people have to endure. So if Clooney wants to try and actually make some changes, then I’m all for it.
