ICM is letting motion picture lit agent Nate Ross out of his contract early.

Why discover new talent when you can justify your paycheck passing around established talent or those in close proximity? God forbid somebody might actually have to do some work and get exposed.
womp womp, icm
Didnt APA just include Bethenny Frankel in their big “we’re major” press release?
Yeah, but they spelled her name wrong. Clearly grounds for divorce.
Curtis; man that is fodder for a really good discussion. New writers really do have a tough time.
Note to APA —
Avoid misspelling your (arguably biggest) client’s name in a self-promoting sizzle intro, or risk losing them to WME.
Acronyms and initialisms are abbreviations that are formed using the initial components in a phrase or name. These components may be individual letters (as in CEO) or parts of words (as in Benelux). As a type of word formation process, acronyms and initialisms are viewed as a subtype of blending.
CAA- Crushing All Agencies – Lets face it Hate them, Love them, indifferent about them, you have to respect and admire them. Enough said.
WME – Willfully Meanspirited Executives or Woefully Mismanaging Entertainers- Take your pic, but either way. Have you noticed what a bad culture there is over there since the merger! Geez, they just feed on eachother because they cannot sign CAA clients anymore. Name Clients seem to jump ship every other week.
UTA – Underneath Two Agencies – Hey not such a bad place to be. You are the alternative now embrace it. Yeah the Wheel of Comedy is gone, but you have cooler agents in their place. Most of the spokes of the Wheel went to CAA, and a few to WME. I heard one of the spokes of that wheel is getting a 7 figure salary at WME and this person has no real clients. Sorry this riff applies to the acronmym above.
ICM – Internally Caused Mayham – I dont know what else to say. Yes they have some nice depts. But where have all the stars and directors gone. WAKE up! If you are still paying off Rivisi dont they expect some stars to arrive at some point. Its been 3 years. Go after WME, there is blood in the water.
PARADIGM – PLEASE ALL RIVAL AGENCIES DONT INTERFERE (with) GORES MESS. Not quite an Acronym, but hey I tried. Gores never knew an agent from one of the bigs that got fired that he doesnt love. Hey at least he picks them up while they are half alive. I cannot say that for the next agency.
APA – AGENCY (for) PASSED (over) AGENTS – ok my acronyms arent working. but hey it fits. THis is where the Agents go that Gores wont even take. Their Retreat video was hilarious, come on guys.
You arent serious. If you wanted to make your point, put agencies in there that you really compete with. Innovative, Buchwald, Abrams, Diverse. Yes you are at the head of that pack. The retreat video could of had the Diverse agent walking breathing heavy, the Abrams Agent on a Unicycle, the Buchwald agent on a ten speed bike, and you guys winning with a suped up Go cart. Have I made my point?
GERSH – Gersh Eventually Relinquishes Stars Haphazardly- I mean they get a little momentum, because they are good signers and then BOOM they are gone to the bigs. Or should it be Gersh Eventually Relinquishes Signers Haphazardly. Hence the loss of their young super star agents. While the older GERSH’s look like old pickles that have been formaldahyding for 30 years. Great business model Keep the Geezers, and get rid of the young super stars.
Hey all Join in the fun!! You can probably do better!!
I guess WME knows how to spell “Bethenny”.
nross is an excellent agent and has always been a pleasure to deal with. Not something you see everyday in the biz. I can’t wait to see where he ends up.
Hey Acronyms, You are hysterical!
Nate is a class act.
Alan Poul left UTA? They did a lot with a little over there. He should be grateful. He is a talented line producer and a very nice man. But that’s it.
It would be really great if the agencies could band together and ban untalented people from working ever again: Megan Fox, Jessica Alba, Lindsay LohanAmanda Bynes, Hilary Duff, Michael Cera, this list could go on and on
Reed is quietly putting projects together as a producer.
Give ‘em time.
Diverse was mentioned in a comment above as being one of APA’s real competitors. I’ve got a meeting with Diverse later this week for possible theatrical rep. What do you guys think of them? Decent place for a TV guest-star level actor to be at for a while? I ask here because you guys seem to know what you’re talking about, and I don’t have a manager to harass yet.
For Question:
people seem to forget that APA signed Anna Kendrick when no other agency did. What happens after her career explodes? She drops them and heads to CAA. Typical. APA is a great agency and their clients are consistently working. They nurture clientele.
Yeah I remember when Anna left right around Up In The Air. I’m nowhere near that stage in my career where CAA would even be a remote option, so I won’t pretend to know what I’m talking about. It does seem like unless you’re a Brad or Angelina who can manage to feed the beast that is CAA for the next 30+ years, they are just a temporary representation you take while at the hot prime of your career, and then when that cools off, waddle back home to APA, ICM, Gersh, etc. with your tail between your legs. Basically like a super high-end hooker in Vegas who’ll do all the nasty stuff you could ever dream of but only while you’re throwing $100s at her. When the money quits flowing, she sends you packing back to your wife who’s not as hot and isn’t too into the kink but at least offers stability.
Nate Ross is a great agent with great taste. I’m sure he’ll be great no matter where he goes…
GReat. First, Daniel Radcliffe, now with Bonnie Wright!
Wow! Bonnie is being signed left & right! loving it!
